I just gave birth 2 months ago and it was unmedicated natural birth and in my experience nothing I tried to do saved me from the pain, pushing the baby was easy because your body will tell u to push in any case but the pain I felt when I was between 5 to 8cm nothing made it less. What's amazing is that I can do it again and again because nothing is more beautiful than a baby

40weeks today and breathing is literally your only option to remember when having painful contractions. I'm not in active labor and no matter which position (which you will naturally adjust to), just remember your breath is what will center you and relax your face.

it's so amazing and ensuring to hear that the pain doesn't get any worse after 5cm - I honestly thought it gets worse with every cm until the very end! I'm so glad that's not the case, I really want to give birth naturally so it will be encouraging to know that it's 'only' a matter of endurance once I'm 5cm dilated. I'm 32 weeks in and do yoga with you daily, keep your fingers crossed for us please! :)

Thank you so much for being here! I found your channel during my first pregnancy and used so much from your channel to have an amazing, quick, unmedicated birth starting around 10:30 at night and my beautiful boy was born at 11:27 the next morning. I remember the information that changed me to thinking "I can do this" was a description/diagram in Mindful Birthing that contractions are a bad name for what is happening. While we think of contractions as squeezing, it is also the uterus opening like a slowly opening umbrella. In labor, I kept visualizing my uterus opening while I had a contraction. Now I have a close second pregnancy and I just remembered your channel! I'm already in my 3rd trimester and I'm back on your various exercises :)

I've had 4 unmedicated births and there is no way I could let the baby come out slowly. I can handle contractions all day long for days on end, no problem. The pain and difficult part for me personally is the actual birth. My vagina can't take that stretching. I've never tore but those babies have to get the F out as fast as humanly possible. The second they are out all pain is magically gone and even though I know my uterus continues to contract down and deliver the placenta I never feel any of it. I'm currently 27 weeks along with #7. I had epidurals with my 1st and 2nd.

I feel like, once the baby is ready to get out, it's coming out fast and hard. But also, thank God my babies have been small and I pushed them out quickly, even while on my back. Planning to birth #3 at home or a birth center so I'm looking forward to any position other than on my back!

I’m nearly 41 weeks with my 3rd. First 2 were unmedicated spontaneous births and I’m hoping for the same this time around but I am a lot more scared this time, especially since this will be my first time in a hospital setting and I worry they will push all their desires for my birth onto me. The pain doesn’t feel tolerable and I was vomiting because of it with the last two. I’ll try focus on my breath, visualise babies progress, it will be how it needs to be and then I’ll get to hold my baby boy. Good luck to all the mummas here. Our bodies were made for this and I’m sending my loving strength to you all💞

I would definitely say contractions stop getting worse after 7 centimeters. The difference tho is you get more and more pressure along with the contractions which makes it’s scary and maybe seem more painful. I’m currently 36 wks and 4 days. This is my 5th pregnancy and I’m trying to learn better ways to ease labor so that I can have an unmediated birth. Love watching your videos!

Thank you for your content. I recently started doing the prenatal 2nd trimester stretches. I'm loving it. I'm definitely going to try to be more relaxed, breathe with intent and also find distractions for when the contractions hit. In my first birthing experience I tensed up and never really rested in between contractions which meant I used up so much energy - definitely going to aware of trying to spare my energy this time around.

Later I started feeling nauseous and hence switched to walks. Your channel has been immensely helpful to me. Your calm demeanor is very soothing. At 13:52 I also expierenced something like that with my first child. I am a mother of two beautiful, lovely daughter's. When I was in labor with my first child, my Mother &+ S.O. were in the room. I had my first natural, no epidural, my second I opted for an epidural. My mother told me (with my first child) my daughter was in the birth canal for 2 hours, with me pushing. I had tearing with both. I am pregnant with my third (a boy!) &+ I want to have no epidural this time, &+ would love to avoid tearing, so I decided to educate myself. Yes I have two daughter's, went through labor twice, but I still don't know much about it... At least when it comes to when is the right time to push. 😅 I basically just listened to what the doctors said, (which is good, but) I'd love to be able to listen to my body too, so hopefully some of these help. Thanks a bunch! &+ I will continue to educate myself! 😎😁

Some very funny story, I was fully dilated during my second pregnancy and my baby crowned on her own and the nurse told me the next contraction you go ahead and push. I said okay, but for some reason I totally forgot what push means and how to do it, I asked the nurse how do you push again, they started laughing and explained it to me, you push like you want to poop and the baby is expelled forward. Less than 10 mins the madam was out of me. Ps: the second was just 20 months apart from the first.

With my son, the body was actually way worse by the end... It was fairly okay until 5 but by the end, his head got stuck and I had non-stop contractions. His head was in the 99th percentile and he weighted almost 10 pounds! They had to manually remove the membrane to allow his head through. It lasted 4h30 from beginning to end, but as soon as he was out I felt perfectly fine, while 5min earlier I was just screaming non-stop like a wounded animal. About to give birth again and not gonna lie, I'm terrified of giving birth again... But I still loved my natural birth way more than the epidurale I had with my daughter.

Hey I really love your videos! It was hard for me to start working out and feel exited about my birth after I went a traumatized experience and I found out that my son will have a cleft lip and eventually cleft palate. It’s my first baby and I just didn’t expect anything like that to happen. I just found out that your boy had a cleft lip as well and I would love to hear more about it or maybe you can take away my worry with some Tipps? I am very exited to meet my baby soon but also a little scared. Sending you lots of love ❤

I really don't know what you are talking about, I wish I would! My contractions were one long unbearable extremely painful for over 3 hours until I broke down and received the epidural. There were no breaks to relax in. I couldn't stand, sit... No posture was comfortable any more. And it didn't feel like a worked mussel, it felt like my entire body was having non stop pain in waves.

Your tips are fantastic. I had a certified massage therapist for my labor with a lot of experience massaging pregnant women. It was so helpful. As a tip, I learned from one labor you need to nourish your body with natural fluids, electrolytes, and minerals. Before the labor I did Adrenal Cocktails and Smidge Magnesium supplements of a total of 400 mg a day. At labor I did a good quality coconut water with no sugar added, but I added a healthy salt that was low sodium and high in trace minerals like Baja Gold Salt. The salt actually makes it tastier. I did plenty of spring water. This is because the labor I didn't drink a lot my uterine muscles became dehydrated, which research shows slows dilation and makes labor a lot longer. As you daid support your body as you would a workout. Also make sure you frequently go to the bathroom.

I am not sure what to say. I just had my third child and I experienced horrible contractions once my water broke. They kept escalating and got so much worse. If they felt the same as when I was 5cm, I absolutely could have coped. Perhaps every woman is different. I'm interested in how women have natural births with tolerable contractions the whole way through.

I really appreciate your insights! I wonder if you would consider doing a pregnancy dynamic stretch video or something like that to help prepare for labor that doesn’t include “yoga”. For us Christians, we believe this practice is inherently attached to the worship of Hindu gods and thus, cannot participate. I would love to learn about alternatives to these practices if you can think of any! Thank you❤

I'm pregnant with my first child. I would love to have a natural, unmedicated birth just like you. I worry that the doctors won't listen to me if I say I don't want the epidural. Of course I have my reasons as to why already in my head even though I'm only 17 weeks along now. This really helped me prepare. Of course I've been watching other videos too, but the fact of doctors thinking they know what you want for a birth experience terrifies me. Like I really hope I can have the birthing experience I've always dreamed of having and that you're meant to have, at least in my opinion.

Thank you for this video. I love how quickly you go through all the different tips. I am currently 6.5m Preg with my second and up until a couple weeks ago had not been exercising or doing much to really help myself. Since I started a couple weeks ago, your videos have been my favorite! The workouts have been semi difficult for me to get through, but I love how I have been feeling. This video is giving me a little more hope again that I can get through this second labor and delivery. It's still a little terrifying, but...your videos are helping. So, Thank you!! I looked up a video to visualize the labor and delivery (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kKqAksiosqrcc6M.html) that was an animation and it was really cool to add to your tip of visualizing what is going on down there.

I’m a little skeptical about 5 cm argument. For me the pain was getting worse after 5 plus contractions were coming one on top of another without a chance to catch a break and regroup in preparation for the next one.

Same. I have a hard time when women say it doesn’t get worse after a point or it didn’t hurt that bad. Near the end of every labor for me I go from in control to mooing sounds. My contractions give me no break at all near the end either. I scream like a warrior going to battle when I push. I want the baby out! I thought that was normal for birth so when a friend told me she paused pushing at every contraction break I was shocked as I thought it was supposed to be constant near the end! I’m on number 3 baby now and trying to find all the things to help manage the pain. But I have my doubts.

Hi there. First of all, thank you for this amazing content you've been putting together for all of us. I love it! I have one question regarding the contractions pain and intensity. My first vaginal birth was a 24hours horror full of pain. My contractions very super-intense from the first moment. The only thing that has changed in the time being was their intensity uptil the point where I couldn't bear it anymore and I asked for the epidural. That ended by me not feeling anything, not even the birth itself, so I was pushing completely wrong and I am happy that nothing happened to my baby. I am expecting my second baby and there is no way I want the epidural anymore. But at the same time, I am not sure if I can survive so much pain again alone. So here is the question - is the birth-giving itself more painful than the contractions? Is there maybe a small chance of not feeling anything more, just those contractions? Is the pain decreasing towards the end? #superhorrified #tryingtobeprepared Thank you and my apology if this question sounds stupid, but I've been never more scared in my life and I don't want this feeling to affect my pregnancy which I tend to fully enjoy.
@PregnancyandPostpartumTV
@PregnancyandPostpartumTV Жыл бұрын
Not a stupid question at all! The contractions were definitely the hardest part for me. By the time you are pushing and feel your baby’s head you have so much drive, endorphins, excitement … I felt like a superwoman at that point… also… second baby is *usually* much easier 💞🤞 You’ve got this!!!

I think having baby (posterior ) facing up your belly is more painful no matter what. I’ll be having another baby is same is head down which I’m happy but he’s facing up and I know for sure the pain I will go through will be intense 😫😫😫😫😫 so I’ll be trying all the exercises to helping turn to my back but only God knows of baby will turn to face my back/spine.
