Was thinking the same thing. Just replaced a VR on a Buell and it makes zero difference. Believe the reasoning behind it is because the stator runs in an AC circuit.

It does actually, it has either low compression or it’s not running on all cylinders. So I’ll either swap the heads and installing new piston rings or just swapping entire motor.

No, one of the cylinders are bad. I’ll be posting the video tomorrow of the motor tear down and inspection.

That’s really tricky, most stores locally don’t have much metric, but my Ace Hardware hardware has The biggest selection. I really try to acquire as much miscellaneous bolts as possible every rebuild. sometimes my bikes come with a bag of miscellaneous parts which includes bolts, if I were you Id hop on eBay try to buy a bunch of miscellaneous bolts or buy packs of specific bolts.

@@Benjamminoutdoors yea i did buy a fairing bolt kit. I bought stainless though cause i had the aluminum crap on my 929RR and they faded in a month and 2 snapped off in the holes. Steel all the way now. i probably took on a bit much for my first build but so far im doing well. After watching you, Built from the bottom. and a few other guys i figured i would take a shot at it. im making it into a video so ill make sure to share it with you. I have an ace here and i saw autozone had a decent amount of metric.

You should be able to do that you just got a watch out on the thickness, because if the powder coat is too thick it might not fit everything on the bar like it should.

Yeah it’s hard, it’s not worth buying from auction sites IMO my buddy built from the bottom spent like 3-4k on a wrecked cbr600rr after they hit him with all the fees. I just try to find people who wanna get ride of theirs.

I used crushed walnut shells, I plugged the intakes that weren’t sealed by the valves then blasted them out then blew them out with compressed air before moving to the second set of valves and just swept it up. I videoed me doing it but I don’t know where the footage went.

Not according to mine, I touch both and nothing happens. it’s only when they both touch metal does it register.

You can go to a free website called National insurance crime bureau, it will tell you if any Vin is stolen or salvaged. So I was actually able to acquired a bonded title for this bike so I should be able to get it street legal now.

Yes it’s the single pink w/green next to Gray plug on the right side of the bike, it should connect to the same wire on the headlight wiring harness that runs to the speedometer

It stayed running but was really rough, it was running on 3 cylinders. Watch the other $200 cbr build videos and you’ll see the motor tear down.

@@Benjamminoutdoors The fairing cracked into the inside so I had it heat treated to atleast bring it back to shape. Tabs are all fine so mainly cosmetic
