I spent $200 at an estate sale of an old electronics collector (much like me!) that had quite a few cameras and camcorders for sale. He said that he knew a few of these didn't work, but "most of them" did. I took the gamble and bought the 12 untested and this video is all about testing them to ensure that they work properly, and also ascertaining used value, as my job is buying and selling camera gear. FYI: The viewfinder only works when the LCD screen is either closed or flipped around to face the front.

Great video as always! 👋I also use a Sony HDR PJ10 camcorder for many house construction videos, on a tripod, it's super easy to power on and just record HD video. Very practical. the "PJ" - built in projector is just a fun gadget so show your friends :) 📽

Even with Black Screen of Death those units can be very useful for playing DV to PC and if they have DV in they may record from even Sony DSR Engineering Cams with broken decks.. In fact my DSR 450 even triggers one little cam I use with it when it's set to play mode + DV in on...

I have (and use) a JVC Everio GZ-MS100 flash memory camcorder that I got off eBay for $25. Decent standard def. camcorder. The toggle switch to turn mine on when I open the LCD display is a little finicky, and the "laser touch" slider control is a rather amusing novelty, but it gets the job done for the kind of videos I do.

Nice! I have used a lot of Everio’s over the years, that little slider control takes some getting used to! But I do like the video quality of ‘em

I have a canon he or hf 200 lady sold it to me with charger but could not use it she stated battery would not work but works with plug I got mine for 20 bucks. And use it a lot it does great videos and it is a sad card one I have others that do but this canon is awesome

I still use my JVC GZ-EX250BU from 2009 a lot. Full hd, 40X optical zoom. I used it to film a hyperlapse while walking in a demonstration last week. Footage needs a bunch of stabilization, but the image is great. I also use the motion activation mode to capture activity at my bird feeder. I have also used it as a street camera because of it's quick turn on and focusing and small size. I can hold it directly over my head in a crowd and film & shoot. I also love built in lens covers, wish it was auto-open though.
