This new 200 Stab Wounds album is amazing. Piles of Festering Decomposition was a great EP, the debut full length Slave to the Scalpel was even better, but this new album I feel is their best work yet and one of the best death metal albums of 2024. There's lots of hardcore influence to be found on this album and the great but not too clean production really makes the hard hitting riffs and pounding drums stand out even more.

I saw 200 Stab Wounds with Dying Fetus this past May! And speaking of these two bands, 200 Stab Wounds is touring this fall with Nails [who are releasing a new album at the end of August] and Dying Fetus will be touring this fall with The Black Dahlia Murder, which the latter has their comeback album set for release September 27th, entitled Servitude.

The intro to Hands of Eternity is straight up Call Of Ktulu.

One of the best this year so far! Love this album and these guys always bring it. Seeing them live is always fun too!

This album is so good! 200 Stab Wounds definitely are winning the death metal race of 2024 with this album. The only other band that will give it competition for me is Fulci with their new album. Both 200 and Fulci are another level above everyone in terms of quality and songwriting!

One thing that needs to be said to all the metal gatekeepers saving us all from the core...bands like 200 Stab Wounds are tomorrow's death metal torch bearers. The more they play and tour with the old guard the more they will evolve into more tried and true styles yet the younger audience will have their support as well.

I'm generally more of a thrash guy than a death guy, but when death metal hits, it REALLY hits. And this one REALLY REALLY hits - maybe because it's got more thrash in there, but regardless, it's still death metal to me. Right up there in my album of the year list. Saw them at Decibel Fest back in April and they were band of the festival - just outstanding. PS: "RIFF BUFFET" 🤣🤣🤣

I love the honest production on this. Glad there is a push towards more interesting recordings. You guys need to look at the new Lodestar record, best rock record I have heard in a long time. For fans of STP, Janes Addiction and Sabbath.

Listened to it a couple times today and absolutely love it. Sick riffs, great production imo and a fantastic length for a death metal album. Probably my death metal release of the year so far. Great stuff.

Listened to the digital at the gym yesterday and my physical copy just arrived 5 mins ago. They kicked ass with Cattle Decapitation earlier this year. This album slays just like the last. Definitely some changes here n there, keeping things fresh but still heavy as fuck. Great review guys, was looking forward to your take on it. Knew you’d love it and give it a high score. Can’t wait for the Meshuggah ranking. I have most of their albums. I’m interested to see where they place with my own tier list 🤘

First listening to them but this album is absolutely sick! Super catchy riffs and a little techy/proggier than I would’ve expected from this band. Like that instrumental track is pretty unique. Definitely going to check out their other album

I just finished listening to this. This is brutal, vicious and an absolute banger of a release. So much diversity on this one on most of the songs. Love the title track and the track Defiled Gestation. Funny you guys mentioned thrash metal because that's the first thing I thought of. I saw them live last year with Frozen Soul. Killer band!

This album pleasantly surprised me. I thought it was going to be more brutal. First time hearing them. There is a lot of melody in here and some nice soloing. You guys hit the nail on the head with the thrash. Its all over this album. Think that's the biggest reason i like it. Perfect length too.

It's very solid...I listened to it twice through today in my morning workout. Remember when Deicide's Legion was blasted for being like 32 minutes long...well this is 29. haha But as you guys said, it doesn't feel that short. It's actually a solid length.

I feel like they really grew and refined the best parts of their sound on this album. No sophomore slump for these guys! Sepulthrower had me laughing, I’d jam that band for sure.

Damn this is a friggin great 29 minutes. Not surprised based on how great the first album is, but still…. Can’t ask for anything more - they bring the riffs and heaviness with just the right amount of dynamics and the album leaves you wanting more. Definitely see this being on a lot of year end lists.

The only part I liked was the solo in the beginning of Release the Stench, I think each thing these people churn out since their first EP is just progressively worse each release. The vocal collab in Ride the Flatline was the most cringeworthy thing I've heard in a while, and that's saying something, just so fucking awful. I was thinking they could maybe turn it around, since I was already disappointed with the direction they took on Slave to the Scalpel... whatever.

I tried to like them, but they're boring to me.
