Thanks man! Pulled the motor out of my 2000 Tundra and found that it was okay - lack of lube on old metal regulator caused enough friction to make it stick. But I followed your directions - they were perfect. Cheers!

Very good detail and follow up explanations. One thing I learned working with electrical connections for many years, is that these 3M push type splices can fail over time. I was informed about this and the techs always used inline insulated splices for lasting connections for all weather conditions as well. That does require a person to have a crimp tool but wire strippers often come with crimping ends. Great job!

Hey man, it was THIS video that helped me get my motor replaced. I even had 3 clamps on the regulator to make sure that thing stayed in place (I also marked with s sharpie, you know, just in case😂). This is an excellent video, not just from the technical side - which is flawless - but from the standpoint of presentation. Dude, you're really good at explaining things to those who have the proverbial 'stupid question'. In my case, I've borrowed a 2000 Toyota Tundra in Wisconsin for some temporary work - and the passenger-side door is stuck in the down position - yeah, I know, bad Karma. Local shops say about $350 to fix, but the owner is reluctant to do this since I'm only paying him about that for the period of use. I considered doing the repair myself - I have worked on doors before - and your video has given me the confidence that I can make this work. But, I'll have to see what the owner says. // Separate comment - I greatly respect you for clearly explaining the errors you made at first, and how we could avoid that. I respect people who are willing to admit that they've made a mistake, since ALL of us do. So, I've subbed to your channel. You're not just a good mechanic, but a very honest man.

Job complete. I didnt just swap the motor but the entire unit. I had trouble getting my window down to access those 2 track bolts. So I used a wrench to go up and free the 2 bolts holding the glass to the track. Then let the window down easy off the track inside the windo. Then removed the unit. My window made it down about 5 inches before the motor gave out so Im sure that helped me get the window freed up. Once you remove all the bolts it kinda sissors down on its own. I was wondering why my unit came with only one bolt. It is to act as a spud to line up and whole unit then you take that bolt back out from inside the door and install it the correct way. Your video gave me the confidence. I did a full door panel swap/update while I had it off the door. (put in new lock/opening knob handle while open too. I liked it so much and the panel was in such great shape for being 20 years old, I just got back from the salvage yard and got the passager side panel in A+++ shape. Got both for $120 total, with tweeters. Guy tossed in a set of those custom floor mats cut just for the Tundra that are about $50+. Been sweet adventure. Now have to fisingh my light update. Have everything new and LED except the floodlight housing. Have the matching LED to the headlights in the floodlights and they look great. HID LED headlights and flooflights for $40 off amazon. Every light housing around the truck is new and with LED lights including the Reverse and all Signals. Package deal for headlights, running lights and rears (both sides) for $140 from carparts.com. Got new floodlight housing set for $40 off ebay. Updated the grill from Summit for $60.I run glass pack and no muffler, still have cats. Have a Jones Turbine resinator installed next week instead of glass plack. Updated the truck bigtime. Still not finished. Still too much to list. Updated to the 5"Flat black running boards too...Installed both new door handles/lock units. Installed new TRUNK latch as that is broken on most. New lock on fuel door. Still this week, power steering pump (not a remanuf), new thermostat, new air filter and new fuel filter, new ceramic pad break job. My rig ony has 185,000 miles. I like to keep it up. Put in a new rack and pinion too. My friend has a lift and knew how to swap it out and "set the toe"...Was awesom to help and watch.

Quick word of caution. TLDR at bottom. I followed this video to the T. Bought passenger door window motor. Waited a couple days. In the rain I removed my passenger door panel, but the window was up. Spent hours trying to figure out how to lower it. Finally got everything together. Replaced the motor. Tried to roll up. Nothing. Tested the voltages, and there was nothing? Is it the relay is it a fuse? No they are both off of the same fuse. Took off the driver side door and tested everything. Everything works fine, even the new motor. Banged my head in the rain for a couple of hours. Looked at hundreds of forums and videos. At the bottom of some dark corner of the internet somebody asked "Is the child safety window switch on?"...FML popped the switch and everything worked fine... TLDR: Check your child window safety switch before taking everything apart.

Anything on replacing the window tracks. I was told by dealer the tracks need replaced also, due to corrosion. Wanted $970 tho replace regulator and tracks. I will try this procedure in the next day or so, I'll inspect the tracks. Hopefully I can clean and lube the tracks. Thanks for the video. I think I can do this.

Could you tell how I could fix the problem of the window going up when I push down and vice versa. I know it has to do with the wires being polarized but you do you have to snip the wires and feed them back in to the connector opposite from the way they came?

I've got all the bolts removed but my regulator/motor won't drop down. Seems like it's stuck to the bottom of the glass (window in up position) and I've pulled on it reasonably hard. Any suggestions?

Is there going to be a big difference from a 2000-2006 tundra and a 2000-2006 tacoma? The tundra are the closest video I could find and this one I feel like is the most well explained

Motor and assembly already together After removal and installation Complete I found out that my switch works backwards do you have any knowledge or understanding on how to reverse the switch, Possible switching wires On the switch to correct the issue?

Could you get the motor to run when just connected to the harness or does it need to be bolted into the truck door

I'd add soldering or proper crimp/heat shrink connectors on the harness work would be way better than t-taps. Those are trash and will cause issues.
