The Clutch Hydraulic Release system on this car can be challenging to bleed. We demonstrate two techniques, open bleed screw bleeding and vacuum bleeding. For instruction bulletins and additional videos by our part number go to www.clutchtechsupport.com.

Hrider303, Vacuum has its places where it works great. Many DIY's and even some shops sorry to say don't own one. Glad you got it working. Gary

How many turns of teflon tape did you use? I can't seem to get a good vacuum when I setup the hand pump. With the bleeder screw closed and I apply vacuum the gauge starts dropping and I can see some fluid and air bubbles starting to enter the tube but with the bleeder screw in closed position. Do I need to just make sure all the connections in the system are more "snug" and put more teflon tape on bleeder screw, any thoughts? Thanks!

Gary, thanks for getting back to me. I did double check the validity of the vacuum tool, it seems to hold a vacuum. Looks like the one you used just got it from harborfreight. The part I replaced is that flex rubber hose which connects the two metal pipe lines. Part #46961-S04-003, its off a 96 civic ex. I did not disturb or mess with any other connections besides where the flex hose connects and the bleeder screw on slave cylinder. I do not see any leaks either. After brake cleaning everywhere I touched, all parts are dry. I did only put 1 turn of teflon tape and I made sure to only put on threads. I'll try wrapping with 3 turns and try again.

@@perfectionclutch I replaced the master cylinder about 3 1/2- 4 years ago? I have not adjusted the push rod since then.

@@perfectionclutch Finally got some time off work to redo. I put 3 1/2 turns of teflon and finally got a vacuum. I still saw a few bubbles but way better than before. Now I have about a 1/2" pedal free play like in the vid. Thank you this video definitely helped me out!

If I put a one way valve on the bleed screw, then I shouldn't need to open and close the screw between depressing and releasing the clutch pedal, should I? I do that when bleeding breaks and it works just fine....

94 Accord EX 5 speed. If I adjust the pushrod to the fully extended position, end of threads, I can still push in my slave? Clutch is then overextended, causing shift issues. Put it back to halfway, shifts correctly.. All new slave, master, clutch and disc etc... Thoughts? slave and master are Japanese high quality aftermarket. Why does my slave not block off and not be able to push in like in your video....? When over adjusted......?? Thanks?

I tried the first method and didn't see any fluid coming through the hose after having my brother pump the clutch about 15 times while i opened and closed the bleed screw.. is this air still trapped in the system or could it be something else? I have a 2003 honda civic 1.7L ex with this exact setup

+perfectionclutch No adjustments to the master cylinder.. However, it all started when I took the push rod out of the Slave cylinder to grease it, and the joint on the clutch fork as well (clutch was squeaking very loudly). When I got everything assembled back together (so I thought), the clutch pedal fell straight to the floor when I pushed it. Now I'm unable to put it into any gear while the car is running

Haha I know I went above and beyond on the grease probably. I put some wheel bearing grease on the clutch fork joint where the push rod head sits, and also on the little piston inside the slave cylinder where the other end of the push rod sits. I replaced the slave cylinder and made sure this time it was sitting inside of the fork. Last time it wasn't because the spring, along with the piston, came out of the slave cylinder. I'm going to replace the master cylinder since I've been told it is more than likely leaking internally, since I can't get any pressure through the clutch line.

+perfectionclutch Just a late update: I replaced both the master and slave cylinder and now have pressure on the clutch pedal. I came to the conclusion that the internal seal on my master cylinder wasn't sealing anymore, since the slave cylinder was no longer pushing on the clutch fork while I pressed on the clutch. I also learned that the little o-ring that sits at the bottom of the master cylinder clutch fitting, is very important. If that o-ring isn't there then fluid will squirt out of the retaining clip. Just thought I'd give an update for anyone that's having clutch pedal issues
