seminar and a blindfold exhibition match were organized today by ChessBase India at Sage International School located in Danish Kunj, Bhopal. The event, named Khelo Chess India, was inaugurated by the school principal, Bhavana Srivastava. Following this, Niklesh Jain, Director of Khelo Chess India and an international chess player, explained to the students the benefits of playing chess. He highlighted how learning the game can enhance children's mental abilities such as focus, concentration, memory, imagination, and decision-making skills, which in turn can improve their academic performance.
Around 2000 students from grades 3 to 12 participated in the event. To demonstrate the imaginative and memory aspects of chess, Niklesh played a match blindfolded, calling out and interpreting the moves just by hearing them. Playing with white pieces, Niklesh started the game by moving the king's pawn two squares forward, while seventh-grader Nishtha Balhara, playing with black pieces,
