Review of the new style Trijicon ACOG sight- my understanding from speaking to those "in the know" is that THIS model is the new version they will be bringing in to the Corps and that it has had some improvements.

We use a chevron reticle in the Marine Corps, not whatever that is.

+john rowland the optic can be had with a multitude of reticles you can verify that for yourself at trijicon's web site.

+brett248vista yes, but that is not what the MC uses. This version is a crosshair reticle with a BDC calibrated for .223 likely from a 20" barrel where the Marine Corps version is a chevron reticle with a BDC for 62gr from a 14.5" barrel for the M4 version and 20" barrel for the A4 version. Furthermore, the MC and Army versions both have mil windage hashes for dialing in IDF

Same optic. So at the end of the day, how board does one have to be to pick those nits. Many people just say *It's an ACOG like the Military uses* factual statement regardless of what particular model it is. I think the one in the video is the CH.

+brett248vista again not the same and its not just the reticle style. look at the actual specs of the BDC calibration. RCO-M4 is calibrated for 62gr 5.56 from a 14.5" barrel, RCO-A4 is 62gr 5.56 from 20" barrel. The TA31A/F/H are calibrated for 55gr .223 from a 20" barrel and also lacks the mil windage hashes for IDF corrections.

Megan Parish Yeah good point they have to change the reticle and the graduations on the windage and elevation. Still the same optic... A different "calibration" does not a different optic, make. It would be like arguing that a GMC Sierra and a Chevy 1500 are not the same. Same platform, differing options available. And it's not like the M4CP and other variants aren't available for Civilian purchase (as they are). Arguing useless minutia, perfect way to spend the evening! :) *Edit* they also have to change the model number sticker on the box too! :D

You won't be losing zero with an ACOG any time soon. Once the Prism is settled after making your adjustments, it's locked. This isn't a toy optic, this is a battle proven design.

Worth mentioning how it doubles as a reflex sight, and the Bindon Aiming Concept. ACOG has best blend of rapid acquisition at any range, and tactical long range shooting on an AR-15. My ACOG is on a 6.8mm SPC II, and has not lost zero after hundreds of rounds and many miles of hiking woods.

Just a heads up. Yours is plain jane basic acog. Cost is $789 and you can get them used fr $600-$750. Nobody pays over $900 for these anymore. These are not a $2000 optic especially the barebones one you have. Just an FYI.

the rmr wasnt shown thats normal i guess but the real usmc kit is 1500 @ opticsplanet, comes with the kill flash honey comb and mount and bag its a good set up

Some of us just have to have the best of the best , no matter what the cost. I bought the same Acog scope with the ACSS reticle ,, with the RMR mounted on top .

This isnt actually USMC issue we got issued a chevron sight this is a .223 reticle.

I know your comments old, so you may never see this, but it’s interesting how times have changed. If your looking for range duty and not something bullet proof you can get a LPVO for $300 that works great. If you want durability you can get an aim point pro, for around $400-450.

Which model is this? The TA31RCO that the Marine Corp uses comes in at well under 2000, even now in 2018 they can be had for 1500 many places.

The version with the red dot on the top runs 2k. I got mine with it missing so I had to send it back. The reticle, etc. is the same as the red-dot version (because it is that version, hah!)

I subscribe to the theory of research. But I am also always researching anything about science, so I knew about Tritium even before I had an ACOG. It's neat stuff! No doubt though, it inhaled or ingested it's not a good day.

That's pretty standard, actually. Optics are often more expensive than the body... this is true for firearms just as it is for cameras.

I picked up a TA-11 for $400. Sent it back to Trijicon to have the tritium replaced for $270. Like brand new with all the original paperwork for under $700. If your optic was gov issued to the Marine Corps at some point..you better not send it in for repairs. Run the serial # to make sure. That would be an expensive loss.

I would never trust my life to a chinese optic. These are expensive because they have pretty much the clearest glass you can get. My ACOG has clearer glass than my $3200 S&B pm2. They are also built like a tank. There is a reason why the army and marines used it almost exclusively in the middle east. MADE IN THE USA. You get what u pay for.. And you can get them for $1200.. Thats what I got mine for..

you spent too much the ones the usmc are a chevron and cost 1200-1400 dollars and my marine friends hate the acog because they do break the fiber cable is what break the TA01NSN acog by trijion is better do to it has no fiber cable to break and the us navy seal use TA01NSN and it is less at 900-1000 dollars and come in 308win or 223rem Reticle's

Son, you've been had. Now if that had a RMR+mount on it, them you get up to 2k price. When buying a scope thats $1000+ its worth doing your homework and looking around for the best price. Also, a USMC would have came in the cheesy camo box. Where did you even find one for that expensive?

I can see a scope with precision rifle. A M-4...... red dot maybe or just iron sights. All scopes scare me. a couple pops you loose you zero.

Correct. The USMC current scopes are the TA31RCO-M4 and TA31RCO-A4. The Army issues the TA31RCO-M150. Recent updates to the above models make the actual scope the same, it's just the accessories that are shipped with these 3 models that are different. The reticle was the give away in this video that it wasn't one of these 3 models.

Yall have the chevron model. he got the crosshair. Not the marine issued reticle but this reticle is for more accurate long distance shots. soldiers version is for quick acquisition... I prefer the crosshair over the chevron or the ACSS or the horseshoe reticle.
