2001 husqvarna 570 TE cam chain timing marks

Showing the correct timing Mark's for a husqvarna 2001 570 TE (maybe 410, others?) single cam. Manual had awful pics .. Had starting issues and thought I'd remove valve cover to inspect cam timing. Mine was correct and I now suspect I had a stiff decomp cable that wasnt releasing properly.

Well as it turns out - after speaking to a Husky GURU here in SoCal, what MANY folks dont know is they had two setups, the one found online is 30 degrees off (same one i followed)! SO - you would have to move the magnets 30 degrees retarded to the 153 one online (or whatever) and try! Print out a degree wheel the size of the flywheel / magnet cover and use that :)

Very helpful video about to put my motor back together and was pretty glad to find this what is this 30 degrees that you commented about though I’m a little lost there

The diagram I followed is one I found online where a guy hand drew the angle of the magnets, and it worked for him.. but the shop owner I spoke to here in the US said there was a 2nd design (mine) which is 30 degrees different than the one I found online, I would NOT kick-start it if u are testing initially! Rope around front forks and tow behind a car and try run start in 2nd gear.. that kick lever almost destroyed my foot vos it was off so much. If you're pulling the cam this video is irrelevant.

not at all- the cam timing is not related to the magnets in the flywheel- its a very common issue, the magnets separate and getting them lined up in the correct position is the main issue.. It will NOT fire correctly and bust your ankle. There is ONE diagram online that is very misleading because some models have magnets that are spaced VERY differently (almost 40 degrees apart) which is why I could not get mine to start.. The cam lines up with the flywheel marks, BUT if the magnets have shifted they will be out of sync with the flywheel mark and basically the whole system is out of sync. This video deals with re-epoxying the magnets in their correct position. I am back in the US and not near the bike but might be soon and will def get it running next time!
