2001 Subaru Outback 3.0, V6, LL Bean, Starter change replacement

Here I show how to change a starter on a 2001 Subaru Outback 3.0 V6 LL Bean Edition. You basically just have to remove the positive battery cable at the starter, the switch connector, and the negative ground strap. To access the starter you need to remove the air intake box at the top rear of the engine. There are just two bolts: the top is a 14 mm bolt, and the bottom is a stud with a 14mm nut. Super easy, takes an hour or less.

Just a tip for next time: Show the difficult stuff. That bottom bolt, and the actual installation. When I find a video titled "2001 Subaru Outback 3.0, V6, LL Bean, Starter change replacement" I kinda expect to see an actual replacement rather than the narration of how to do it.

Yeah the video was kind of an afterthought while I was doing it, but still pretty easy with just one bolt one nut and 2 electrical connections

@@JeffDrumm Thanks for it tho. There's not much for the H6. I don't know if I have to replace mine, but I got this noise on cold weather starts. Apparently just some degraded lube inside, but I still don't like the noise!
