Chris Gamble and Mike Doss in the same secondary was unreal

Was in Columbus for this game. When Gamble picked off that ball, I was at a bar a few miles away having a cigarette. It sounded like thunderstorm or a huge freight train coming. I’ll never forget the sound.

This and the 2005 game were probably the most physical PSU-OSU games ever.

This is the game that made a believer out of me, that this OSU team could actually win it all. Mills had killed OSU the previous season and Larry Johnson Jr. was a stud of a RB. To hold that offense to 7 points (net zero with the Gamble TD) was amazing. What a physical game this was...classic Big Ten football at its finest.

This team and season is legendary. It was as if they beat everybody that year by using Jedi mind tricks.

It was the most effort a team has ever put into a season in the history of the game. The 2014 team overcame more, but this team leads the example for team effort.

Absolute freak of nature.

What’s insane is that gamble never played really played defense. He’s mainly played offense. I played with him from little league to high school. He was one of the best to play WR. His nickname was “Moss” in HS. A Gifted athlete for sure. #FloridaBoy
@Tburna024 жыл бұрын
Andy Gygi oh Yes, for sure, he never played defense in High School. He was full time WR. He might have played 1 or 2 snaps at cornerback in HS. 98% at WR.
@Tburna024 жыл бұрын
Andy Gygi agreed! Chris was born to ball. You should check out our HS state championship game (Chris Gamble senior year) he was so good, they had to triple cover him at WR. Lol kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pbKRbK-Qlrarl30.html

I always picture him taking off his skin tissue at the end of the day, like in Terminator 2 when they show Dotson that Arny is a cyborg from the future.

I feel like Ohio Stadium just willed the Buckeyes to victory that day, definitely one of the loudest crowds and sustained it pretty much all game.

Nugent sure was unsung hero this season
@stevenstover59944 жыл бұрын
Your not lying my guy, we scored a TD off of a interception return. That ties their TD, Nugents 6 points wins the game. We did nothing on offense this game but punt and turn it over.
@joelspencer9233 Жыл бұрын
And Andy Groom as well. If I remember correctly, Groom led the Big Ten (and maybe all of college football) punting and Nugent led in kicking...maybe the best punting/kicking combination OSU ever had.

Wish they would've had a Big Ten title game then to see Ohio St. vs. Iowa. Two conference unbeatens, would've been a good matchup.

How Chris Gamble wasn't a Heisman trophy finalist in 2002 is just amazing.
