The thicker washer on the drive boss between the variator and drive face is the restrictor, explains the "still only goes 30mph". I have the same bike and it easily hits 40mph, more downhill.

About as genius as going on yamaha parts and printing the part diagram showing what location each bolt goes.

Thanks for replying after I watch the video I started investigating again and I think I figured it out. I have a bolt missing on the back of my airbox and I think the air box is vibrating and hitting the fender. I haven't fixed it yet but I'm pretty sure that's it. Thanks again.

Dar Tice sounds like it. I think you probably want to put a rubber washer between the two metal parts as well. You can get a variety pack at harbor freight for $5 or so.

Be careful with that first washer - the one that engages with the kick starter clutch- after the first nut on the variator spindle. It’s dished, so it only sits one way. If you don’t pay attention, there’s a 50-50 chance you’ll get it wrong and grind the fins off the variator. (lol sorry if I got the words wrong).

Honestly the best thing you can do is grind out the re-stricter cone from the exhaust intake, makes a world of difference! do use a wire hanger catch so you don't loose it down the pipe. Made my bike go from 31ish to 40 or better.

Just, I had 04 vino 50cc and I did the same thing to the exhaust pipe flange. It went about 40mph after.

I'm no expert but pretty sure that slipping feeling at 28 mph will not go away with your mods. That is the CDI unit limiting top end rpm. "Electronic Govrrner" maybe a race CDI would do the trick. Tell me if I'm wrong?

Sorry, I guess I never ended up editing that video. The carb on the vino is pretty similar to the schwinn 50 and metro with only slight differences, so I would watch some of those and you should get a comfort level.

I heard people say removing the washer causes it to get stuck on the shaft making it hard to remove and in some cases reduce speed.

Hello, can you help me. I own a Yamaha Vino bike. It has a problem that I cannot solve, which is when I brake with the front brake, the tire of the bike bends to the right and rubs against the body of the bike, knowing that the shock absorber is new and working. Please answer or anyone who reads my comment, I am in real trouble. Thank you.

Hey man can you help me out? i cannot even get the kickstarter off. I have a 2004 and I guess there is just so much grime and stuff that its like glued in. I am able to get the screw out. And I also cant get the two middle screws out. The screws are so old and I dont know if it is even possible to do anymore.

Try spraying it with WD40 and leaving it for an hour or so. Then tap gently with a hammer to see if it loosens up. You can try to gently pry it directly out, but don't move the stem too much laterally or you risk damaging the gear or bearing. You can probably get a basic slide hammer or bearing puller from Harbor Freight for less than $15 if that doesn't work.

I have a 2006 Vino 125 and I got a rattle and I can't figure out where it's coming from do you have any ideas sounds like it's coming from the exhaust but I'm not sure.

Probably the mounting bolts for exhaust have come loose. Just tighten them all up, might even find a couple missing

Not sure but I dont think they really changed the drive train much so it should be similar.

I just recently got a 2009 vino 125 and it’s used up but to my knowledge it’s stock but it easily hits 60 - 70

Hi, may you tell me the specs of the pulley sliders you used? And did you have problems after taking out that washer?

Dr. Pulley 5 gram size 15 x 12. I have personally never had problems after taking out the washer, but have heard that the belt is more likely to break. If your scooter has more than 3 or 4,000 miles, you may as well change the belt if you upgrade the sliders.

Yes, the transmission is mostly the same in the newer model type and has the same restricting washer. Definitely upgrade to Dr. Pulley slider weights as that will make a much bigger difference.

I tried out a breaker bar, it didn’t work. Just an electric drill should work though. You really need the speed more than anything

I had to stop watching because you have no clue what you are talking about! The washer you said was the restrictor is not the restrictor. the washer you were playing with in the center of the variator is the restrictor!

This is not how u de re-strict this vino I used to have one just like this if u want to stop it from going 30mph take out the restrictor out of the exhaust and then it will go 40
