I just did this over the weekend on an '06. The 06 and 07 I believe have a black canister attached to the intake manifold where you can't even see the starter from the top of the engine. All I did was remove the intake manifold and some vacuum hoses and the aforementioned black canister (2 bolts up top, 4 bolts in lower corner near the alternator.) I then just pulled the intake manifold toward the radiator and was able to work around it without removing the intake air hose or throttle body. You will need some flex head ratchets though and some joint/knuckle socket adapters to make the job easier.

That was a tough job for me! That main bolt begin stripping and thanks to the Lord my uncle filed the threads back down and I was able to screw it back in!

Only thing I had a little trouble with was the 17 mm bolt. Had to climb on the car and almost die but I got it loose 💪🏻

I'd keep the honda starter, clean it up real good, replace the brushes if they were worn and sand the armature. Have done quite a few over the years, put a lot of miles on the cars with no more starter problems. Replaced an aftermarket starter for a friend that bought one and it was junk in no time. And he gave away the good starter as a core charge.

There is no reason to do the amount of disassembly that you did. You can unbolt the intake manifold and just pull it forward and out of the way.

Awesome video. Tried doing the starter this weekend and the 17mm starter bolt was fused to the transmission. The end of the bolt was melted onto the block. Is there any advice on how to fix the threads from the transmission? Do I need to do a helicoil sleeve? Thanks in advance.

I seen that the green key was flashing on cluster at beginning when you turned the motor off. It’s for the immobilizer and chip in key. No problems with that Hector? Good job on starter replacement.

This can be done from underneath remove splash plate pull out nock sensor not sending un undo the bracket on the lower part of the intake . If you are half ass mechanical 45 min job

My 2007 Honda Accord has over 227,000 miles on it and she had started to not crank at all. We suspect its the Starter, or the alternator. The display, Radio Air lights all come on but the engine won't turn on.

Looks like I might have to do this same thing just to get to that heater pipe right above the starter smh I hope these rusted bolts don't give me problems ☹
