Thank you for a great video! I'm in the middle of doing the same with my 99 and I wanted a visual reference. One suggestion I would make is, clean up the threads on all of the bolts with brake cleaner and a wire brush and then put some high-temp, copper, anti-seize on the threads. That way you won't have a struggle taking them off the next time and/or you'll have less of a chance to break off the bolt heads. Thing get very hot down there which causes the metal to expand and seize up.

Just in case anyone's having issues with rusted nuts or bolts, I mixed acetone atf fluid and gasoline together in a spray bottle and soaked the nuts for a day and they all came off pretty easy, pretty good penetrating fluid

Everything sounds good except the gasoline part. Caught my hands on fire cleaning an engine with gasoline so be very very careful

Ive found that using a couple of the lug nuts to hold the rotor in place makes it a little easier to get the caliper back on. Great video tho!

Only thing I would add brother is tell the boss the camera person.. to make you put another jack stand underneath the passenger side frame or move your jack stand to the side you're working on. 👍

Question.....I performed this job on my 02 f150 4x4 5.4 is there a bearing or race on the back side of the spindle which also needs replacing????

What are the torque specs for the wheel bearing hub, axle nut and brake calipers???

Usually not, but you can buy replacement ones online. 👍

You’ll hear like a grinding noise lift the truck up and give it a wiggle and you’ll like the tire is loose and spinning it would give you a nasty grinding noice

What size socket do I need for the axel nut with the cotter pin that runs through it?

I found it easier after getting rotor off ,is to put tire back on and just snug up lug nuts and kick top bottom left and right on tire and it will brake the hub free and slide out. Then just take hub off of rim

Fordtechmakeuloco has an excellent video on this on a 2001. You done ok but his is so much easier....and always have a small pan to put nuts and bolts in...please say u tightened All bolts to torque specs. Very important.

Of course torque specs tight. If you don’t have a torque ranch though just tighten it as tight as you can. I also keep mine nuts and bolts in an order that I know where they are which that’s what I always recommend to my viewers I don’t necessarily put them in a container but if that’s what is best for people than they should do it me I lay them out in an order where I know where they go and I suggest in my videos for viewers to do the same.

You can replace just the bearing if you have a press kit or a machine shop close to you, but most of the time it’s cheaper and more cost effective to replace the hub with it already pressed in.

The entire hub assembly is only $60 on rockauto.com way faster and easier and the cv shaft is only $38 dollars while you already that far tore down on an old truck I would do them both
