Miami hadn't quite fallen off just yet, but this was the 2-week span between this game and VT in Blacksburg that saw the cracks beginning to form.

@@joshuagann8026 indeed. My cousin, Ron Widby was a punter for Doug Dickey in the 60s at Tennessee. Went on to win a Superbowl for the Cowboys in 1971 for Tom Landry. General Neyland's maxims are the blueprint to winning football

@@sNorENaDo777 My grandfather talked about your cousin once when we were talking about the Colquitts and how great punters they were. My Grandpa says " Widby is the only one we've had that can change a game for you like those boys". As soon as I saw Widby and punting written together I recalled that conversation. GBO my friend, can't wait for the season to start

@@joshuagann8026 I can't wait either. Nico, Sampson, Pearce jr., C.Mays, Bru, Squirrel and All the rest, should be a revolution in Vol History. That's the mentality everyone needs! Go Big Orange 🍊🧡 Ron Widby is the only 4-sport letterman in the history of Tennessee. He played basketball for Ray Mears with Bert Bertlecamp and Ernie Grunfeld. He played in a bowl game (the Bluebonnet Bowl I believe) in Texas and the Sugar Classic basketball game in the same day. He could have also flown the plane. It's impossible to accomplish that these days....4 sports..... Everything Ron Widby did was successful. Great teams back then. Ask Philip Fulmer, who Ron also played with. God bless you and can't wait for the season

I agree, I'm expecting a great season. I think it's about to come together for Coach Heupul, so glad we finally hired a competent coaching staff . And God Bless you 🙏

Actually surprised they talked about this game in The U: Part 2. They sure didn't want you to know about the 1986 Sugar Bowl in The U.
