Hi, thanks for the post. How did you manage to get all the cables in and fit the stereo in? Since my hand can not reach behind the stereo after its in its space, i cannot seem to remove the cables from the way. I had the same issue so I made my jumpers fairly long, used a few strategically placed zipties to keep the cables organized, and I found some empty space up and to the right that I could lift the big components into before pushing the radio in. Hope this helps!

In addition, if you want to keep your fader controls, don’t use the MOST adapter that comes with the unit as it’s only 2 channels (you will only be able to adjust your balance). I ordered a Trioma MOST-RCA interface 3.0 (Russian). It has 6 channels (4 are sufficient).

I'm interested in learning more about this install. I've tried the NAV-TV and Enfig modules. Enfig is more capable than the NAV-TV. However, it's buggy, not intuitive, and frustrating to use. I've been looking at the Seicane system for some time. It seems to have more modern features. However, there's a lot of add-ons to buy to get it working correctly. How do you like your system? Does it work well? Is it buggy? Are there things you can't do that you thought you'd be able to do? Any insight would be helpful --- daily usage/functionality, phone connectivity, microphone quality, Bluetooth capabilities, etc. would be great.
@UltF15 жыл бұрын
Sometimes (maybe 20% of the time) the bluetooth won't connect and I have to turn the car off and back on. Bluetooth sound quality is excellent; microphone quality is good; functionality is good; Google maps works well when I use a hotspot; I like that the steering wheel buttons all work. I haven't played with it as much as I want because I travel a lot for work. The only add-ons I needed were CANBUS (included) and MOST (extra $75). I'm sorry but I don't know anything about Enfig nor NAV-TV.

I have been procrastinating on part 2 sorry everyone. I blew one unit and wanted to troubleshoot before giving wrong info that could hurt anyone else's setup. Got it sorted now. Hopefully I'll get to it this week. Might be 3 parts in total.
@UltF15 жыл бұрын
The first Cayenne I did factory backup camera using relay and it worked 3 times then stopped. Turns out a diode in the CANbus decoder melted. Not sure but I think from mistakes I made before getting logic correct. I know now that logic in post #618 is 100% correct. 2nd Cayenne I did works great. I replaced CANbus decoder in 1st Cayenne and it works fine now too.
@UltF15 жыл бұрын
I wrote it more clearly here. SPDT theory of operation: The relay operates (switch changes position) when there is 12V across the coil. Without the 12V on the coil, contacts 87a and 30 are connected to each other. When 12V is applied to coil, it is contacts 87 and 30 that are connected. SPDT wiring instructions: 86 RELAY COIL IN spliced to the orange REVERSE IN wire on the android power harness. 85 RELAY COIL OUT and contact 30 spliced to each other and ground. The factory camera motor operates to pop out the camera when the blue wire on the porsche factory power harness is grounded. Blue wire on Porsche factory harness connects to 87 contact. Nothing connects to 87a contact.

@@UltF1 Understand. How does the head unit know the truck is in reverse mode, from the CAN bus adapter?
@UltF15 жыл бұрын
@@xpswgg Yes, someone wrote on Rennlist: "The reverse signal isn't 12V in the traditional sense. It's just a signal on the canbus from the transmission module. The canbus adapter reads the canbus signal looking for a reverse signal and then switches an independent 12V supply when it sees it. This 12V supply is wired to the head unit and causes the display switch. This same 12V supply is used to simultaneously supply the camera and switch the display."
