Given that Venables is back now, as well as Schmitty, I fully expect the defense to start looking more like this again. This is smashmouth football right here. The next few seasons should be fun to watch for sure.

I was at all 3, 08 tech was 2nd loudest I've ever heard it, 2000 Nebraska was the loudest.

I recall like two or three touchdowns coming back watching this one in the north endzone. They were to close to out of bounds to definitively confirm, so score could have been even higher. 2008 was in the student section with friends and it was dangerous as we went to take a bathroom break and by the time we got back the aisles were shoulder to shoulder and they weren't walking to their seats they were making them right where they stood. Security has never allowed this and I don't know why they did on this game. Only game I ever felt uneasy at.

Of the four teams Bob Stoops took to the national title game, I honestly think this was our best team. Smothering defense and a Heisman QB with two deep threat WRs. Only thing missing was a real RB threat.

@@ajsports4450 I blame the coaches for the K State disaster. Too much distractions and not enough focus. K-state had a good team but no way they should have beat OU 35-7. If I remember correctly it was Baylor who first figured out to just knock the crap out of Jason White every time. They lost but they showed how to get OU out of their offensive game. Holy cow, how in the world is that 17 years ago???? Man , time flies

'03 was a fun season. Living in Western KS as an OU fan and KC Chiefs fan, both teams were just spectacular for most of the season before cratering at the end. Lot of good weekends before that, though.

Is it me or did OU stopped them 5 times not 4 at the goal line ? Watch the downs 1st & goal “ stopped” , 2nd & goal “ stopped”, 3rd & goal “ stopped “ , 4th & goal “ stopped “, and the refs gave them one more try which made it 5th & goal ? Like WTF ?

@@soonerlegendspodcast OSU has ZERO national titles in football. That ridiculous "1945 National Champions" banner they display in their stadium is a complete farce. Army won the NT that year in every poll. Some silly organization "awarded" OSU the "1945 NT" 73 years later! In 1945, OSU did not get a single #1 vote by any pollster who saw both teams play that year. Zero! That '45 Army team is considered one of the greatest football teams in history. No one outside of Stillwater recognizes their phony national title claim. Matter of fact, most people laugh at it.

I was at this game and some sloppy Chokie State fan decided to walk through the student section talking shit. He got physically escorted back to his side. And it wasn’t until later that night that I heard Les Miles say Let ‘er Rip! Once again Little Brother goes home with the L! Boomer☝️
