I love how International made those diesel engines have enough power and torque to pull and/or tow nearly anything, very nice engines, especially the 7.3L.

My truck is a 2000 7.3 Ex, 350k, hard life towing trailers, nothing but regular maintanence, even the original 4R100. Couldn't ask for a better truck, and no better feeling than to prove everyone who said it wouldn't last this long that FORDS DO IT RIGHT.

Honestly I would take the power stroke over the durasnatch any day but Cummins is the only way to go. Now you get a ford chassis with a Cummins motor and your set.

@MrTpengineer nah, the 7.3l dont have as much of a turbo sound to it, unless you buy a turbo upgrade to the vgt turbo that the 6.0's had

You say that cause youve never owned a 6.0, my 03 6.0 has 200k and not one problem, did an EGR delete, 4 inch turbo back exhaust and an SCT tune and the things a beast, pulls like a brand new truck, I cant see myself getting rid of it I love it.

What lift and wheel set up is that?

The ZF5-42 and 47 behind the 7.3L PowerStrokes were pretty good but they lacked a granny low. The ZF6-650 that was offered in the 6.0L is a bit better but more complicated do to it having a cooling system. The ZF6 has a granny low so it makes it more ideal for towing. The Dodge New Venture Gear (NV) 4500 Heavy duty is a really strong transmission long as you get the 5th gear fixed. However its all cast iron where as the ZFs are aluminum.

im a ford guy but so ya i find it funny that its a chevy but come on.. so many of these types of situations are just the drivers stupidity not the truck every truck breaks some break sooner due to how parts are manufactured same goes for everything tvs fridges if its made by machines they got chance of fllaws. if people want to complain about vehicle brands then complain about the imports not the brands made in our own home countrys
