This is one of the videos that helped me fix the same problem. My gear lever was very free but on the dashboard it was permanently on neutral so the car won't move... Waited for more than 3 hours for the mechanic and he couldn't come. Was watching videos on KZfaq while waiting. They helped me a lot! I found the problem and drove to meet the mechanic...He was shocked!!! He finally put a pin to hold it firmly in place... Thanks a lot!

dorman 14797 is what I used and you can buy it at most auto parts stores. I slipped on the bushing first then the cable loop over the bushing already on the shifter shaft is the way I installed this bushing. It snaps on easy.

What if I do all this and my car still doesn’t move?
