I'm glad in the end they awarded him the gold medal. He won. Amazing story, amazing Olympics.

They cheated him out of the moment on the award podium hearing his national anthem played.

It is too sad that Adam Nelson had to wait 7 years until the "winner" was shown to have cheated. Winning in 2004 and standing on the medal stand with a gold medal andhearing your national anthem, can never be awarded after the fact.

It's no consolation, but the IOC does a gold medal reallocation ceremony for the silver and bronze medalists of the sport, in the IOC HQ. Even though you do get a ceremony dedicated to your reallocation, it's sad that you won't be able to feel the feeling of having to win gold in the area you worked hard to win it in.

I really admire Adam Nelson, he’s such a great competitor with an even greater attitude

Those wreath girls, hubba hubba. Can't believe the video quality was this bad back then - Saw it live and felt it was a million times better.

Both Olympic champions competed under drugs. Such a shame for such a great and unique competition. Nelson was robbed since he could not feel all the joy and could not enjoy this day.

The Americans, with their superior spin technique, failed to adjust to a slippery ring!
