Had the pleasure of watching and betting on Speighstown’s mother (Silken Cat) back in the day at Woodbine, she was heavy favourite, went to her knees at the start, got up quick took the lead at the first quarter and opened up by about 15! Always knew she would be dangerous as a broodmare. Watched Speightstown himself run at Woodbine just before he became a superstar. At that time didn’t realize exactly what I was witnessing but he did make short work of the best sprinters on the grounds on that day. And what a Stallion he turned out to be. Very well bred horse, no doubt
