You do not have to remove the screw on the glove box door strap. The other end of the strap just slides off the door.

Actually never knew that, thanks for the tip!

I just wanted to add. With this switch bypassed you can now start your Jeep in gear when the engine stalls on a hill or when rock crawling.

Dude, Thank you!!!!. It boggles my mind that the fuse bypass is designed. And, it boggles my mind further still that someone would willingly bypass it!!! Wish I would have seen this video before I purchased a new switch, then cursed every minute of putting it in, then cursing that it did not work. Thanks!!!!!

Worked like charm on my 2004 X! I've been battling starting issues for over a year and this just helped me fix it in literally 2 minutes.

Worked fine in my 2000 Jeep Wrangler (though I used a 15 amp fuse instead)...thanks as my jeep was occassionally breaking down and having to wiggle the clutch interlock switch to get it to start again!

Thanks for the video. My 06 tj had the same issue. With about the same mileage. I daily mine. I'll subscribe thanks to your video. I've replaced ever sensor,rear main seal upgraded exhaust. Gonna add j8/dana44 with ox locker to upgrade hpd30 with trutrac. Then upgrade my ford9 I run in the back.

For anyone who happens to have an 05 and came looking for this topic, it's different. You have to put a fuse in position 28 in the fuse box in the engine compartment.

That is interesting, I have a buddy with a 2005 and this worked on his.
@titan_05tj893 жыл бұрын
@@_everydayoffroad_ it's even listed in the owners manual for my 05 sport. Position 28 is dedicated to the clutch interlock override.

On my 04 LJ Automatic I had to do this to start my Jeep? The sticker shoes this is a spare fuse on mine and I used the spare and then Jeep wouldn't start. Thought it was battery and after researching I tried a fuse. It worked! Any ideas?? Do I need to change the bypass switch in steering column to fix this?

I have a 2003 rubicon and it has been bypassed… any idea on how I can put it back assuming the switch is good.
@_everydayoffroad_ Жыл бұрын
I assume you could pull the bypass fuse that we installed in the video and if the switch is good, it will work.

What happens if you run a 10 amp fuse instead?
@_everydayoffroad_ Жыл бұрын
Not sure. Thinks it’s worth the drive to the store for a $5 box of fuses though to make sure it’s right.
