What we have here is a front end shakedown on a 2004 Jeep TJ. Many Vibrations and corrections happened in the steering before we fixed the problem. At first we thought it was death wobble, but after further looking into it the problem was multiple things: Caster (alignment), Control arms, Tires, and Sway Bar Bushings.

WOW! You hit home. I have a 2001 TJ with 33 inch Goodyear MTR's and a 3.5 in lift that behaves exactly the same as yours did before the correction for the last 3 years. Time for an alignment check and look into sway bar issues. THANKS

Death wobble isn’t fun going 65-70 😂 the one we had wouldn’t be caused by a bump, it would get to a certain speed and the vibration would just build into a wobble that would make the whole thing shake like the tires were trying to fall off

Nice video to watch I went to a shop they wanted 250$ for a complete alinement including setting up my control arms on a jeep I just build needless to say they took my 250 and never touched any control arms then they said oh they were all perfect. Lots of people don’t even know what to do with my jeep

I've recently just bought my first jeep. 07 JK it is a handful to drive. This little Jeep is everywhere. It's lifted 35s yada yada. The epitome of a White Knuckle ride. you never know which way it's going to go. Constant steering input just to keep it in my Lane.. This little Jeep I bought the most dangerous thing I've ever drove. I'm a newborn to Jeeps 3 weeks in. not real impressed yet. it drives like crap. Really Hope I can get the Jeep to drive right. I'm kind of liking it other than driving like crap it's pretty cool. I found out they get as dirty inside as they do outside. interior isn't pretty no more. one time in the mud completely sloshed the whole interior. windshield dashboard headliner everything inside was dirtier than outside. That's something that don't happen with the Chevy truck. I've off-roaded Chevy trucks my entire life. This is my first Jeep I thought it would be a 100× more capable but it's not. My Chevy truck will go anywhere this little Jeep will go. The Chevy truck with 6in lift on 38's 5.13 gears Detroit locker 03 chvy avalanch. I really wanted this Jeep to impress me. All year my four wheeling buddies have been telling me to get a jeep. You'll like it better it goes way more places then you can in that Chevy truck. Three weekends in a row I've taken this Jeep out been stuck three times. Had to winch out two of those times. I have never been stuck in the Avalanche. It literally goes wherever I point it. And it doesn't stop until I ask it to. the jeep has way more modifications also. It's had the whole Rough Country catalog thrown at it. Maybe once I give it a V8 it'll be a performer.

I have a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Sport. It sounds like its falling apart! There is a constant ticking in the front end that nobody can tell me what the cause is. Of course its louder when im driving slower or making a turn. There is rattling that is pretty constant. And to top it all off the death wobble had decreased some a little until i had to get new brake pads, and now i experience the wobble 3 to 4 times a day and have to come to almost a complete stop in the middle of the road. Im gonna go through the steps mentioned to see if that helps, but any other suggestions would be appreciated. The video was very helpful! I put it in 4 wheel drive maybe 4 times..And the last time i used it, it made a noise like every part under the hood was going to sling out in every direction and kill me!! Im not a mechanic, just a Mother that doesnt even feel safe driving my daughter and son around in it. I hate to sell it because i know there is someone somewhere that can make it perfect again! I have high hopes! 😁 Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Tire rods, drag link, and track bar. the upper Link Bar and bushing on the top of your differential...... Go to the front of your truck and look underneath it. You are going to see bars in front of your axle. One will be parallel the other will be at an angle. The one that's at an angle just grab it with your hand try to rotate it up. Easily accessed by the passenger tire. Should be the top bar If you can easily wiggle that bar with your hands it needs to be replaced. Same with the bar that runs parallel with the axle. That's your tire rods. Grab them with your hands and give it a wiggle try to rotate it. If you can easily move it it needs to be replaced. There's also a track bar behind the axle that runs at an angle. It's purpose is to keep your axle centered underneath your vehicle. If those bushings go bad it allows your axle to shimmy left and right causesing a bad Driving Experience. I hope this helps. Be safe. FYI. I'm having the same problem

I daily drive my TJ so I keep it on 29" tires (with 0" lift) for better acceleration, braking, cornering, and MPG. I have a death wobble issue I'm working on. Just put in a new track bar yesterday which actually Made It Worse! (Ball joint to the frame on the old bar had play.) Should I switch to adjustable front lower control arms to be able to adjust the caster? I've heard they were only necessary when lifted, not with stock OEM height springs.

And yes, I still have a blast wheeling it on the farm most weekends. Only issue I ever have with my setup is when the ruts in the mudhole get too deep and I start to drag my skid plate. Still never got stuck, but came close.

Great video but the music in the background (foreground!) is annoying and a distraction. It overpowers your voices. I know this won’t make a difference to you but just sayin.

9 times out of 10, death wobble is just an improperly set camber angle.

If you going to add the annoying background music, then put a mic on the guy so we can hear what he is saying. He is more important than mindless background noise.
