I love my 2006 2wd short bed F250 6.0l Powerstroke (7245# full tank 2 passengers)! I recently completed a 600+ mile round trip with about 750# in the bed (Hard Bed Cover) and got 17.8 mpg (Performance Tune-100HP/225TQ) to destination and 22.1 mpg on return trip (Stock Tune).

Speaking from experience, you can average much closer to 30 miles per gallon if you cruise control it at 70mph, it took me 15 gallons of diesel to get from harlingen, tx to san angelo, tx doing 70 the entire way. I have a 07 f250 6.0 with an egr delete and I use the tow 50hp tune

The most I've ever seen was 16 mpg after a long road trip mostly on the highway 65 mph, and from others I've talked to my mileage was better than they've ever seen. I've tried two different tuners (Edge Juice and SCT X4) as well as stock and no difference, 16 is still the highest. (F350 6.0 LB crew, Toyo MT 285/75/16's, leveled, deleted, st piped, studded, PCV re-route/catch can, Visteon intake, oil cooler upgrade, blue spring upgrade, turbo drain upgrade, 08 trans pan and filter upgrade, Mishimoto radiator upgrade, Cat ELC coolant, Mobil 1 5-40 synth.)

What do you get towing? I'm looking to tow 10k a lot in mountains n hills and highways coast to coast I ship vehicles .. My gas truck sucks gas never above 10mpg towing

You should shut off your truck at gas stations and increase your mileage even more.
