Update: An appology is owed. Your video and your advice were spot-on. IHowever, I did figure out the point of confusion. Going back to Amazon and looking at their listing for those blue halogen plugs that we both bought to do this job, I read their listing very carefully. Their main picture of this blue plug shows a different wiring set-up than you used. Several pictures in, and they list how some cars are "non-standard" and this blue plug can be wired exactly as you did it. So, after all that unnecessary anxiety, I just wired my Prius like you did and it turned out great. Everything works perfectly. No more HID system, which have been replaced with brighter LED three prong bulbs (for reflector systems). The only thing I did differently was purchase two new hallogen based headlight housings off of Amazon. And I'm surprized with the quality. They fit just right and accept the three prong headlights without modification. Finished the job today and very pleased with the outcome. I also replaced two water pumps and the three way valve so they should be fine until about 450,000 miles like you. LOL. I'm hoping anyway. I really enjoy the prius. Appreciate your video very much. I removed HID systems on my 2007 Prius today, replaced it with H4 LED bulbs. Only one thing I did differently was that I rewired wires inside of the light assembly instead of outside. So the light assembly is still dust tight as original. Thanks again.

Hey, Thanks for the video. Very easy to follow and your instructions are really good on all of the videos you make. I have a 2009 Prius with HID headlights. I'm doing a conversion to LED lights and just bought new halogen headlight housings to make it all easy to plug and play. I bought a set of blue three prong plugs like you used to soldier it all in. But I ran into a problem. And I'm surprises things worked for you in the end with this video. The blue 3 prong plugs on Amazon show Blue Wire (high beam), White Wire (low beam), and Black Wire (ground) in the detailed ad on Amazon. But in your video above, you used the Plug's Blue Wire (for ground), the White Wire (for low beams), and the Black Wire (for high beam hook ups). Bro, I'm confused. How did the wiring circuitry in the Prius not blow a fuse? I think I'm going to wire mine up like the manufacture says. But I would really like to hear your thoughts on how it all worked at the end of the video when you did an ops check. Thanks in advance. I'm looking forward to hearing from you .

Now the only issue with this conversion is that the new led light source will be hitting the reflectors inside your headlight housing in the wrong angle. Which in turn will be complete off focused light bouncing everywhere and possible blinding all incoming traffic at night time. Good starting point for high beam wars on the road and possibly road rage attack where someone could DIE.

Excellent. My lights were smashed by a deer. I bought HID shells, but after watching your fine video, I'm thinking of returning them and purchasing standard led shells. In the HID units, there are no hid ballast, or back covers, so why not return them and order the standard housings? They are half the cost. Your thoughts. Thanks, J-

The 2005 has the least expensive HID bulbs of all the Priis. I have a 2005 and maybe replaced 2 bulbs.

At the end of the video you cut off how you protect and seal the unit, is it just exposed to the elements because it didn't seem like that original cover would fit on the very back of the shell

What is brand name and part number for the conversion for the new light bulbs could not tell off the video , I haven't had any head lights go out yet but I'm definitely going to be doing this.

Can I put a whole unit of 07 prius headlight for replacement and just do wiring on it is you did in first part?
