My first new car was a 2003 RSX-S in the exclusive electric blue. That car was amazing! The K20A was a Mecca of a power plant. To me this was the ultimate fwd sports car. It was a dream to own! Every morning there was one piece of road I would wind the engine out to 8200 and it was like turbo. Just made my day every day. And cable driven throttle. These really are special cars.

"Miss this era of cars. They don’t make them like this anymore" Yes, they do. You are not looking carefully. When you take your head out of you rear end you will realize that the new ones are better than this but people like you demand for turbo's and N/A cars are lesser performer, hence you can;t see the merit what is in front of you TODAY.

@@bolt2271 "i don't think you understand the premise of their statement. they meant that new cars nowadays feel so "robotic" as today's technology has taken over the way new cars feel back in the day." Well, I think you are completely unaware from the motive behind the post. This hater is not going to put this remark under a European junk car. The subliminal manipulation here is that "Current Honda's are not as good as the old one's." It is not new cars, it is new Honda's that's what he is implying. So, it is time for you to wake up a little. "they simply do not make them like this anymore because of the simple fact that technology has advanced so far." It is advanced for all brands yet you will not here anyone saying this idiotic thing under an older European junk. They will continue to praise the newer model and they even praise the new technology that the Europeans put in their cars. So, wake up. You are subliminally manipulated to shy away from newer Honda's and pushed towards the newer European junks.

The old Honda/Acuras were built much better. I bought a 2017 Civic Sport Hatchback and had several issues I had to keep going back to the dealership to get fixed. Ended up saying F that and traded it in for a 2023 Accord Sport. It has left me stranded 3x now. Trans went out at 6k miles. I have 8 payments left. Soon as I pay it off, Im getting rid of it. I miss my 04 Type S. Got used with 13k miles, had 212k when I traded it in and it only saw the shop once for something I couldn't do myself.

As a car enthusiast, this year has been fun seeing the revival and throwbacks of the Type-S. In 2013, I replaced my 1989 Integra (aka a 1st gen RSX) with my current stock 2006 Type-S. As you have an idea from the video, It's so much fun to drive and even though looks are subjective, it really has a look that appeals to me even today. Hope I can keep driving it for a long time no matter how old I get... :)

I've got an 03 Type S and it's a super fun car to rev out and blast through corners (vtec is very addicting). It never fails to put a smile on my face. Considering how difficult it is to find a clean example of an RSX, and prices becoming ridiculously unreasonable for most older Japanese sports cars (even in poor condition), I'll be keeping this thing until it dies, which could take a while. My family has had in total 4 Hondas with the K series motor throughout my life; none had issues even with high kilometers. Just keep up with maintenance and they run forever Thanks for reviewing older cars, it's interesting to see how much cars have changed in the last 20 years :)

I’m on my third Dc5 and still have a 95’.Dc2. These Suzuka made Acuras were masterpieces. Easy to drive, easy to park, you can squeeze through places due to their small footprint. Easy and super low cost maintenance. Great visibility all around. Test drove the new tlx, a chore to get in and out. Big on the outside, small and tighter than the Integra/Rsx on the inside for such a wide and long car. You’re going to get a lot of door dings from other cars. Finally, picked up a 21’ boost blue CTR and it has filled a pretty good chunk of the big shoes from the Suzuka gems. Never got on s2000 train because I’m a tall and wide guy that needs his car to have decent cargo space with a hatchback to haul stuff. CTR and Integra are just brilliant.

Had a silver one with a-spec package. Sold it back in 2010 at 70k miles to a young kid that saved up from working at a grocery store himself. At the time I actually got sick of it because I got sick of the no torq and always having to rev the piss out of it to have fun. But now looking back I would love to drive that car again with that beautiful gearbox that no car now even comes close to.

I've got a 05 base manual and love how it drives and doesn't bother me that it's a base as I've been told the trans is more stout and the type s trans is more prone to failure under real power and with my plans for my car the difference between the base and type s doesn't matter

I miss my 2002 RSX Type-S (now a 2013 Focus ST). As much as I like my ST, the Type-S provided a more "pure" driving experience, freer of electronic enhancements. My two grips with the Type-S though was the 1st-2nd gear notchiness (apparent in both the Si and Type-S as the time), and how the back-end handled when doing slalom/twisty type manouvers (which never felt as settled as the ST). But still it was the first car I ever bought and owned, and was the car I learned to drive stick on. You never forget your first love.

They went with a compact rear suspension to get a lower load floor in the hatch. Same with me mine always felt sketchy if it hit a mid-corner bump at full speed. Almost killed me a few times. The front struts and rear compact suspension is why the race teams gave up on this platform and went to the TSX.

I wanted one of these so bad when I was 16 in 2006. I was fortunate to have my parents get me a car, and I tried like hell to convince them of at least the base RSX. Of course there was no chance in reality. Today I actually own the closest you could get to this new, a 2020 Civic Sport Coupe with a manual. On paper it’s very close to the base RSX, but deep down I know it’s still lacking some of that visceral feel.

I had a 2005 RSX Type-S in high school. Nighthawk Black. I added an Injen cold air intake and upgraded the sound system massively. It was my dream car that I worked my ass off to afford. But sadly, it was stolen when I was in college. Totally heartbroken but thankful I was able to enjoy the car that was all over my bedroom walls for a good four years or so. Graduated to a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3, drive a 2016 Focus RS today. However, if I ever have the expendable income, I definitely plan on buying another RSX-S... just to relive some of the old memories. :)

Fantastic K20 engine which migrated to the 8th generation Civic SI in both coupe and sedan. In my opinion, truly the last great naturally aspirated Vtech engine for Honda Performances. - Penny for your thoughts?...

I'd love to see a longer video featuring this car, but thanks for sharing what you could. This was one of the very last Honda cars that I found really appealing (even though I prefer rear-wheel-drive cars). With a high-revving, naturally-aspirated gem of an engine, no infotainment or other irritating screens, no electronic throttle control, etc., there is a lot to love here and few things that irritate me. That all of this is packaged in what I feel is a really attractive overall design is the icing on the cake. Safety regulations have brought a lot of benefits since the early 2000"s, but better looking cars isn't one of them. I realize that the previous generation Integra benefitted from a double wishbone setup and a better chassis (along with things like a LSD in the case of the Integra Type R). Yet while countless people consider the ITR to be the pinnacle when it comes to a front-wheel-drive driving experience, this RSX Type-S represents less of a track-focused car that brings its own benefits to the table. I have little doubt that I could have plenty of fun with one of these cars and they are aging rather gracefully in my opinion.
