Ya actually, well if u mean the electrical heat shrink tubes, I use those a lot building harnesses. Just make sure your connections are secure to keep them from coming apart and always use correct size of shrink wrap. Lol hey Anthony B, yeah I didnt want to only have electrical tape myself, but those radios are normally only 150w to 200w so it's not like there is a high load going to them. And normally I use connectors of some kind, but the actual owners bought everything b4 having me come over and they forgot to get connectors, I told them I didnt mind to wait but they said they didnt want to go another day without a radio lol so I just hooked it up tape only and told them if a speaker ever starts crackling or disconnecting then I would take it back out and fix, but honeslty I've had ones that were only taped work (and still working) just fine. As long as tape is clean then it normally doesn't come undone, and woste case if I have to redo it later and if it got old and hot then might be a little sticky residue left after removing tape but still be just fine. I mean that is kinda what it was made for lol, but normally yeah I'd totally not use tape only just for the record lol. But thanks everyone for watching and please subscribe to help my channel grow. Hey Brain Glaub thx for watching, the one I put in worked just fine only using the wiring speed kit for that make and model. If u didnt find anything on Google then u should be ok. On the ones I have more personal experience with, the "stock radio" itself would lock if u ever put the "stock radio" back in vehicle till unlocked with the code from dealer. Almost every stock radio I ever replaced was broke though so never had to worry lol. Just fallow the instructions on the speed wiring clip kit that plugs into the vehicle's harness and u should be just fine. If u run into a problem just google it or comment and I'll try to help. Hey Luis Alderete thanks for watching and commenting, I could have sworn I answered this..... ugh phones lol and probably too late now, but I just saw this didn't have a reply, the phone must not have saved back then so im sorry about that. And wellllll it depends on how they wired it in. But if the speed clip plugs have it on its model shouldn't matter as long it has the car on its list then it should work, just check of it plugs in or not and dont damage it in case u need to take it back. Just always a good idea to look up how to disconnect the radio if u want to save it. Normally stock doesn't run RCA Jacks to amp like aftermarket does so it should be fine, the amp just has the speakers wired to it, but might not turn the volume up to 100% bc it might over power the stock speakers I believe? SJ BEAUTY hey thanks for watching l, well the easiest way to explain this most aftermarket radios would be compatible with the “wire kit” “speed clip” I’ve seen them called several things. When you buy a radio, it just has wires coming out back out (or a plug that plugs into it with wires) but with the aftermarket wire clip plug thingy purchased for the vehicle the radio is going in, it will just plug into it, there are occasional times that another chip had be plugged in, but that should say if needed in the wiring kit, just fallow the directions. Radio, a scosche mount kit, wiring harness, and an antenna adapter. Also, I'd highly reccomend you go the professional route and go to True Value and buy a bottle of electrical Flux, leaded solder, a soldering iron, preferably Weller, and heat shrink tubing with a heat gun or a butane torch and wire stripper

As long as you pick up one of the "dash kits" for your vehicle, then the kit will come with whatever you will need to mount your stereo "normally" there are a few exceptions in certain vehicles, but not normally. 99% of the time the dash kit and wiring kit will come with everything to replace a stock stereo with an aftermarket one. But I just looked it up on Walmart.com and I clicked a random result and they are calling it a “Dodge stratus 2002-2006 Factory to Aftermarket Radio Antenna Adaptor Plug” (No idea why it’s called Dodge stratus lol but they are just about the same an the dodge intrepid so maybe it’s like that for Dodge and Chrysler lol???? QuietMayate- hey sorry I’m just now seeing this, yeah but it makes it way more pain in the @$s at times, but sometimes if your luckycan be pretty easy depending if your willing to do a research and if available to find, so when that happens and someone needed it repaired it can be a bit of a job, SO EVERY ALWAYS BUY THE AFTERMARKET WIRING CLIPS INSTEAD OF EVER CUTTING YOUR HARNESS!!!!!!!! But if they are already cut, then there’s a couple options : 1. (And most likely fastest cheapest solution for most) I would go to local junkyard and ask them to sell me just the “stock from factory radio wire plugs” and makes sure it’s exact colors as the vehicle you have, and rewire the plug from junkyard in and after all the same color to same color, check the fuses, then purchase the aftermarket wiring kit, and continue from there so forth. 2. If your wiring in a after market radio you can look up that vehicles stock info wire harness schematic and it will list the wires that have have been cut and what they are, go to google and search “year, make, and model radio wiring diagram” or guide or schematic, just try a couple different combos to the words till you find it. So for instance for this vehicle I would search with google: “2006 Chrysler Stratus Radio Wiring Diagram” After searching I see lots of actual schematics, but when I went down I see that www.mortifiedlife.com has a result with just of the list instead of a schematic so super easy to match, just I would still check with a test light for the “Power Constant” and the “Power Accessory” (which means it powers on with key and turns the radio off and on with key) then continue from there like any other aftermarket radio replacement. Just always VERIFY THE WIRING GUIDE IS CORRECT FOR YOUR VEHICLE B4 TRYSTING WHAT IT SAYS OR YOU CAN CAUSE LOTS OF ELECTRONIC PROBLEMS FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope this helps anyone who needs to know how to repair or install new but once again I still NEVER EVER recommend cutting a wiring harness because almost every vehicle has a radio wiring kits wayyyyyyyy cheaper than the time to it takes without it. Hey XXXXXDM thx for watching, and welllllllllll, normally on "most cars" unhooking the battery b4 doing anything is almost always a good idea, just nowadays on later made cars, (2000s and up) you have to be careful and look up the actual protocol to unhooking the battery bc of security systems that are built in to some Vehicles/Stock Radios and sometimes it can lock the "stock radio" and in certain cases can even lock the security so its always a good idea to look up how to prevent stuff like that on your vehicle. This was a while back and the radio was already broke so I didn't have to worry about it locking and they have already unhooked and hooked the battery up many times so I didn't have to worry about it, and I wasnt "cutting" any wires, just unplugging and plugging clips into the car's wiring harness with key off. So basically my answer is, if the radio works and u want to keep it for later, then look up the disconnect procedure and unhook correctly, (I've seen earlier models have u wire a 9v battery to cig lighter anytime main battery disconected) and if you dont care care about the stock radio and security doesn't mind and not cutting wires then do it at ur own risk, but owners should always look up how to disconnect battery (or batteries) in case u ever need to know how. And dont get ur wires matched wrong on ur radio wiring speed clips. Hope this helps some.... lol but still thx for watching and everyone please like and subscribe to help my channel grow. Latez

Oh and like on my 03 Pontiac grand am, there isnt a "power from key" wire in the harness, the plug matched older vehicles, but no remote wire, in those models the radio turns on by communicating with the computer to know when to turn on and off and when to security lock. That radio was broke or locked when I got it so I pulled and put in an aftermarket radio in it and ran its "remote wire" (power on from key) to fuse box and connected into my windshield wiper circuit as "power on wire" (seemed like safest fuse to blow if my amp blew lol) but they do sell a "security communication module" that will plug in and tell radio when to power on and off. Oh sorry Michael Archibong, I just rewatched the video, and I didn't realize I cut that out during editing. At 5:00 exactly, I cut the footage only like 1 second short bc it just unplugs and unsnaps coming straight out, you just have to pull outwards (sometimes they get stuck and kinda hard to pull out, as long as there isn't visible bolt holding together). It kinda pops on and out so you might spin it around to try and release the plug before pulling out.
