I also bought a 2005 EX with a 5 speed manual as well just 2 weeks ago. I love it! It's a one owner car that has been meticulously maintained throughout its entire life, with just over 200k on the odometer, and best of all no rust! Something that as you commented on is extremely rare to find on a car that has spent its entire life in the northeast! I just got new headlight assemblies for my car as well and I'm also planning on adding fog lights. I installed a Bluetooth kit that I got from crutchfield and it also allows me to stream media through the radio and it syncs with the factory radio which is great. I'm also in the process of trying to obtain all the extra discontinued accessories for the XM radio which I like. Not easy or cheap to find parts for these cars but they are a blast to drive! Mine is red with a tan interior!

I have an 04 5spd awd. Super clean, near mint body and interior with the exception of a few scratches. Bought it about a year ago at 139k, haven't put much miles on it since my last job was remote. Currently sitting at 144k. Solid motor and i was able to chirp 3rd gear with another person in the car. They even left the picnic table. Def an awesome car and the K series are literally the best 4 bangers you'll ever own.

Thanks for your very comprehensive and in depth review. Appreciate the fact that you actually took the time to not only go through all the neat and functional features this vehicle has to offer but you also had to take out the mats, cargo, cago covers and put them all back lol. I just picked up my 2006 CRV but, unfortunatley I got the 2.0L 4WD, 4 SPD Auto because that's what was available in South Africa. She's not exactly speedy or light on fuel but she's definitley got the space and capability I need right now. She was also a good buy, everything stock from the factory, rear cargo cover was there, no sunroof, no fogs but all minor hiccups. I'm also guilty of letting my phone fall through that damn side door cubby but my cousin said it could be useful for storing folders and suff so might need to give that a go. On the issues that I have currently is that the check engine light is going on even though the car is running perfectly fine and apparently it's a common issue on these models when the catalytic converter picks up dirt from lower quality fuels over a long period of time and those parameters then cause the sensor to read it as a fault. The first fix is to use fuel injector cleaner and change to a gas station that sells cleaner gas and maybe it will go away. The other way is to change the catalytic converter. I also experienced a lag in power which is also another common issue with age and that's supposedly caused by the exhaust gas recirculation valve which I'm not sure if is part of the same system as the catalytic converter because they are both exhaust related but yeah anyhow that's what I am dealing with right now.

Do not lift it. It will wear out the suspension components. Some a/t tires will be enough to get you through any rough or gravel roads.

I have the generation after yours (2009) and the back seats fold up exactly the same way. My generation didn’t come with the table. We have just shy of 190,000 miles. We bought it new and it’s been incredibly reliable, even more than our Toyota was.

i found a 2003 honda crv gen 2 with barely any rust on the underside. the only place it was the most was on top of the windshield that i now have fixed. Bought it in norway at a little over 1k$ at 255 000Km. had it now almost a year now. had to fix brakes on it so far and did some other maintenance that wans't too necessary at that moment. Engine does run fine and the engine oil has not yet turned black, only in an slightly darker orange colour.

I have a 2000 Honda CR-V EX AWD. Has just over 281K miles. The first and second generation CR-V's are the best. Other than my 2007 Toyota Avalon Limited, it is the best vehicle I've ever owned. You can't go wrong with Honda or Toyota.

1st and 2nd gen CR-V’s have to be one of the best SUV out on the road for whoever owns one still, my family has a 06 CR-V LX very reliable. Favorite part from 1st and 2nd gen CR-V’s is the hidden picnic table.

I have a stick shift, 3rd generation EXL model, exactly like yours but mine is a 2007. I remapped it from 138 BHP to 200 BHP, so it's now incredibly fast, especially when you overtake using 3rd gear rev limit. It's hard to get rid if the car because it's practical, reliable and safe. I have been driving it for about 5 years now but I need to sort out the AC issue like you said, I think my compressor needs replacing. It's nice to see a like minded individual that shares my interest for the Honda CRV. I must say, Honda makes the best engines.

No sir you did no such thing. A near 50% increase in power is only achievable through forced induction. A ‘remapping’ mod yielding those gains would revolutionize the car world. Amazing to ponder. I can see it happening with electric cars on a bs subscription model.

Outstanding review. I just purchased this exact model, same "Silver Moss Metallic" color. Found it in the SF Bay Area with 271k miles on it. Love the color because it changes throughout the day. Yours is in amazing condition. Thanks for the tour and test drive. I really appreciate it!! Edit: I purchased the "Solution Finish" that you recommend, and it works great. I'm looking forward to seeing how long it stays on.

My dad has a 2005 CRV EX Automatic. Mileage is low about 105K, but things are wearing out. Paint is fading, but no rust, headlights are all blurry and toothpaste polish won’t help. Steering wheel texture starting to flake off. It was not garage kept. Door locks can only be manually locked. AC still works fine and no issue with the compressor. Wonder if it could be restored and drive for longer. Engine is a little noisy but still drives well. Regular oil changes and routine maintenance were done. Wonder if he should keep it or trade it in?

Ever heard of a speed limit? It’s normally a white sign that says how fast you can go on that street. Different streets in different areas have different speed limits. If you live out in the country, you can drive way faster that if you live in the city where there is people and traffic. I hope I helped get rid of some of your stupidity
