If you are going to do a review know your facts first. The h3's with the 5 cylinder get around 20 mpg which is excellent for a heavy suv. People like you are what ran hummer out of bossiness.

I have been driving since 1973 and have owned many different brands and types or vehicles. I have owned and 06 and 08 and now a 2010 Hummer H3 and they are by far the best vehicles I have ever owned. Fuel mileage is comparable to any mid-size SUV. Better than my 87 Wrangler or my 93 Cherokee. It is shorter than a Honda Accord. The turning radius is outstanding. It's on road handling is comfortable and it's offroad capabilites are second to none and it has a very good safety rating.

Next time please do a review on whats its like to get ran over by a Hummer..

this guy is a joke the h3 is sick and by far not a mistake i would assume he is not used to driving more then a honda not everything is smoth driving and if a vehicle is designed for off road use it has to sacrifice on road comfert

Gas mileage varies on how u drive the truck and how often. I have one and for its size it doesn’t drink the gas too quickly like everyone thinks it does. And I’m sure your testing model was a base model that’s why it had all of the hard touch plastic unlike most that have leather interior and mines even have built in headrest DVD players

Also, just because I am in-between work orders right now, I'll address your comment regarding logic. Logic would dictate that if you wish to review a vehicle you have to at least know about it and the purposes behind it. The "cheap" interior was designed that way so it's easier to clean, it wasn't a failing on the manufacturer, it was done that way. Have you ever sat inside of jeep wrangler and thought to yourself "Wow this sure is luxurious and nice"? I certainly haven't, but they clean easily.

I'd still have to say this is professional. I think we have a difference in how I word my dislikes. I'd bet that anyone at GM wanting to produce a quality vehicle would appreciate any criticism that would lead to a better vehicle and thus better sales. People make mistakes, like me, I'm fine with people criticizing my past work here in my comments but I will have to make them back it up to validate their point.

Their sales figures would disagree, over 5 years, approximately 157,000 of them were sold, which isn't bad. I wouldn't call that a niche vehicle. I get you don't like them, fine, but you can't knock points off a car you're reviewing for things the original owner didn't have installed, like a backup camera. What do you mean by manufacturers didn't like them? The only reason we still don't have Hummer is because GM went bankrupt when the economy tanked, how do you not know that?

I'm talking about the Hummer brand now and at the time when production stopped. At the end of their run, consumers were beginning to understand that faults of the American manufatcuring system. People wanted a more reliable, and all around better made product. SUVs and trucks have changed, you can still buy a work truck for your company that is made of easy to clean plastics but now the general public are given better options for their interior and everything else.

I have this exact same vehicle. It is pretty nice. The only downfall is it is a little noisy. Im hoping it may just be a muffler or something. But it appears to be the engine itslef that is loud. But it runs very very good and I have 175 k Its not that great on gas but not horrible. It Doesnt cost much to fill the tank. Overall its a good rig. Im used to driving Audi a8 so i could be just used to greatness :)

I don't actually hate them. I wanted to point out that in today's market where most people will only drive them on a paved road it's not a good choice. No bed to stick stuff in, for the average buyer, they will not know how to disable the governor, etc. When the H2 was released I wanted one, huge and dominating look. I think the Prius is weak and make of cheap materials too, but that's a bigger problem because Toyota was supposed to have good interior materials, GM was not.

The only thing this guy is right about is the gas mileage, and this truck is a base model if you want the nice interior and all that you upgrade and get the luxury package and all the other goodies.

Probably not a good deal in general but if the Hummer is something you need then go for it. I would say your G is getting up there in mileage.

The interior is cheap, that is not a question, other vehicles, SUVs, cars, trucks, etc. most were made with better materials at the time and now, all manufactures are moving to soft touch materials with smaller seams.

The concepts that were around the time of the bailout were extremely slimed down versions and pretty much like a cruvy jeep wrangler. The Hummer H2 would have been out and I'm sure that the H3 would have been taken through an extreme redesign. The boxy look doesn't work unless people know they will be getting average to goo gas mileage. The little box cars like the xB and Soul stole that box segment. The Honda Element was even eliminated for some of the same reasons.

I think the point would be that no matter how this person customized the Hummer, the Hummer line is no longer in production. Many people think that the line didn't fit in with the mass consumer market. I don't like it, i don't mind how it was customized. We don't have to agree on anything here. I think this entire line was filled with vehicles that were nice niche products but the fact it a majority of buyers didn't like them and niether did manufacturers. They don't make sense to produce.

The reason we don't see these Hummers anymor is because no other car manufacturers wanted to pick up the brand when GM wanted to sell if off she they needed cash. A Chinese company almost bought them but in the end the brand was shuttered because the concept Hummers only tried to steal the jeep wrangler's look and feel.

For me I would want my offload vehicle, whatever it was, to be nimble and pretty small to go where you wanted to go.

I hate the Hummer line-up. GM in the mid-2000's made terribly cheap vehicles. It's something hat I believe they would admit to seeing as they are working hard to improve their entire line-up. I have to ask, do you like the Hummer or do you not like this review? Or is it both?

If this was such a good offroad vehicle, how come this went out of production and Hummer as a civilian company went out of business and no one wanted to buy the rights to continue producing civilian Hummers? Oh Ya Joy boy I forgot to tell ya. Go watch the Test Head On Frontal Crash Test on this 2006 H3. It hit so hard the rear wheels went up in the air a foot high and all the windows, :( Well the Front one got a little crack in the bottom middle of the front windshield and guess what Not a damm one of the other ones broke at all and the Driver and Passenger would just walk away with NO PROBLEMS!! Now yoor Corolla there hitting that Reinforced Concrete Wall, well IT would of EXPLODED LIKE A BOMB!! I think the japw used them in WW2 , that is what they where dropping on us out of their Airplanes, haha I can see it now, Let The Truth Be Known !!!

Not surprising considering the level of journalistic integrity you've displayed. Did you know the H3 backup camera, if the option was installed, was installed in the rearview mirror? Probably not since you kept looking at the aftermarket head unit. You also cannot complain about the way the truck drives on tires that weren't installed when new. This is the problem I have, you aren't qualified to offer a review of a sewing machine let alone a vehicle you know nothing about. Stick to beer "bruh."

worst review ever. i think before you go review a vehicle do some homework. the folding back seats were not designed to lay flat, and the 5 cyl actually gets decent MPG. and also, the original is a great buy. if you can find one. absolute beast of a vehicle. do homework before you review

This is a horrible review. You hated the vehicle, and you made that clear; but you could have given this beast the credit in the places it deserves it. The Hummer H3 was and still is a pretty damn good vehicle. I understand it did have some issues and some awkward things, but you even complained about all the plastic on the inside. Clearly you've never been off-roading in your life. I'd much rather have a vehicle that's easy to clean (inside and out) after taking it down dusty roads, or splashing through deep mud pits. You should stick to reviewing on road vehicles and not something like this. I'm assuming you hate the Jeep Wrangler too huh? Your very biased "review" became "my opinion on the H3".
