Dude! You are the man. I have just fixed my double sided water leak on my 2007 VW Passat Estate, I have had water coming in for the last week on the drivers side. I tried the wire, heavier wire, hot water, everything. Then yesterday it stated coming in both sides, I got up this morning and said today is the day if I can't fix it today then it is going to the mechanic. I watched quite a few videos but none of them corresponded to my car. Then I found yours. I am pleased to say I am now leak free, the water is flowing through the channels like a waterfall. In addition you have saved me at £100 and at least half a day without my car. Thanks again.

Same problem on both sides of mine but it leaks from driver side visor/ a pillar past my fuse box and down through my door onto the floor, Been looking everywhere for a possible answer and I’ll be looking tomorrow, Thankyou this was very helpful!

Thanks man!!!! I don’t have my passat anymore, and it did leaked on the drivers side. I got a 07 Jetta that is currently leaking water, I will try it and pretty sure it’s the same configurations of hoses. Thanks again! 👍

Bravo....I just did mine and the water is out. On the driver's side, I didn't remove wipers and panel because you can see the rubber teat if you look from the side, just behind the hinge. I used a long stick to press the teat a couple of times and Voila!!!! Thanks, you saved me a couple of ZAR. Jah Bles

I have the same problem and most videos shown the drain being inside the door. I have a B6 - I will try to your suggestion although last time I tried I couldn't get those darn black covers off. thanks for taking the time to make the video, it gives me some hope!

Ah mate that's perfect. I was looking at all the pictures of people's sunroof drains and couldn't figure out why I didn't have the drains in the same spot. Saved me a lot of poking around! :)

Thanks for posting! My 2008 VR6 has water standing in the driver's floor. I bought a car cover, covered it in for 2 weeks after shop vac'ing the water out. Drove my Pathfinder in that time. Came back checked it... WATER AGAIN! Sucks that it's the driver's side because the Dynaudio Amp is under that seat. I think it's already fried. Anyway, I am going out to try your fix! Thank you thank you thank you! Same problem in my 2006 rabbit, and all of the forum posts I found used crappy free image hosting that stopped working years ago. Your video helped me identify where the drain holes come out. It seems there was a class action lawsuit because of their poor design, but I missed the boat.

These have been a constant source of irritation. To make matters worse, on mine there was a factory defect in the weld on the passengers side just behind the upper glass corner. I flushed the lines and it still filled the floor well. It did just like yours, dripped down the A pillar. I replaced the front glass. No fix. The pro glass installer found the pin hole leak. VW admitted the flaw but sorry out of warranty. I used silicone caulk on it. These cleanouts should be done quarterly if you don't want water under the carpets. BTW, there is a car computer underneath the seats. It's not a good idea to get them wet. Poor engineering, but it got VW through the warranty!

Thank you! Fixed my leak issues. We'll see when it rains next, but I think that's it! Definitely full of dirt, and when I pinched and rolled my fingers, water came out and dirt.

Thanks for the video, while watching this I found out my B5's got its drains in gap between the door and the car where the hinges are, I can see why they moved it!

Thanks for the video, I had the same problem. Solved it by blowing air from my air compressor through the small holes on the side of the sunroof.

Thanks for the video. This solved my problem as well. I did have to remove the drivers side windshield wiper arm to get under the cover but that was easy enough.

every video on youtube about the same problem, point at that spot near the door, but on my polo, the drain tubes are exactly in the same place. thanks

Cut to the chase: Take compressed air and blow it into the drain holes - voila - drainage tubes are cleared!!!
