Thanks for sharing your opinions on the car! It's very informative and you've owned the car a long time.

Ours has 190K and still going strong. Many of the same issues here like the rubber seal etc. I agree the seats are superb and the highway cruising here in the mountains is effortless. Ours is still getting 25 mpg which is not bad.

I own a 2006 S60 2.5T with 155Kmiles. It runs like a Swiss watch. I just encountered my first electronics issue where the remotes wouldn't unlock the door. It appears that the Upper Electronic module in the mirror is acting flaky. I swapped out the Car and Remote battery but still had the error. The dealer said its 200 dollars and hour and they would be gambling as to what the module is that is causing the issue. I found a place that repairs the UEM and sends it back the same day. So I will let you know what happens. All in All this car is Solid, Safe and I am getting 28 mpg. I can't complain

Thanks for the review. How did you find the turning radius? How would you compare the turning radius to, say bigger cars like Toyota Camry XV40 or XV50?
@wowcarwow
@wowcarwow 3 жыл бұрын
I have never thought or tested the turning radius but it’s a good point. The turning in the Camry is nicer. Check this Camry kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j7hyoJajttHXk30.html. Two years apart.
@gwloo
@gwloo 3 жыл бұрын
@@wowcarwowwow, thanks for replying so promptly! Yeah. Big turning radius is one of the Achilles heels for this Volvo S60 partly because of the 5 cylinder engine length. Perhaps roads are wider in Kuching 😄 but do you remember ever had to make a 3 point turn for a simple u-turn?
@wowcarwow
@wowcarwow 3 жыл бұрын
@@gwloo basically Kuching roads are wide and U-turn has no issue but some narrow places, it’s quite tough with this car. Reliability is a good asset though. As I mentioned in the review, I don’t like cornering with this car.

Your fuel consumption seems very high. My car has a different engine 2.5t, and the current average is 24 miles/gallon or 9.8l/100km. Though we often drive at high way speeds around here

I'm driving more on a mountain and city driving, and it's currently 18-19 MPG. Though I go up and down the mountain so going down helps the MPG a lot. So I don't think your MPG is unrealistic.

This car has really big difference between running in city traffic jams and highway. Yep, my fuel usage while Im driving to work is about same - 14 l/100km. But when I drove to Scotland - about 1200 miles trip - my average fuel consumption was about 7 litres! And one more - while I bought car, computer showed average fuel consumption as 20.1mpg. I thought, is it good deal to buy this :D Now it is 33.6mpg. (yeah, it is English car). Cause I am driving lot more on roads out of city than previous owner, who probably drove only to shopping centres with it :D

if you use 14 liters of petrol per 100 km then i think theres something wrong with your car. i have a 2.5 t automatic from 08 and only use 9 liters per 100 km.

Volvo cars really reliable. If you are in KL, you should get one if you find one in good condition. It’s easier to get it fixed there.

Listening to your dislikes, you should've bought a Prius. It doesn't make any sense. It's a 1600kg car what doe you expect? To corner like a Lotus? Have the consumption of a hybrid? Oh and the rubbers, just buy new ones then, ever heard of maintenance? Of course rubber cracks when it's in 28 degrees for 16 years......

@@Velehokala My 1999 s80 had a broken blinker switch and a faulty abs box. The local car electronics shop said those things along with dashes and headunits go all the time. When i looked them up they even had a picture of a p2 Volvo as their web page backround. Good thing those can be fixed so it's no biggie. Facelifted p2 cars are apparently supposed to be a bit better with electronics iirc.
