This is a detailed comparison video showing the differences between a 2006 WWF logo 2mm Winged Eagle replica belt compared to a 2020 WWE logo 4mm Winged Eagle replica belt. The WWE version is a 2015 produced replica but is still the same version sold on WWE shop at present in 2020.

Just realized the bars on the current WWE champion could be a call back to the bars here. Maybe it’s a reach but it’s definitely something to notice now that they’re not attaching it underneath the main plate on the winged eagle anymore.

I still have my WWF deluxe from 2003/2004 and its still in incredible condition. but I also have a Reggie WW winged eagle, and it blows it out of the water. that said, id still like to get a Master Series in my collection. I feel the way WWE is upping the ante in regards to belt quality on their re-releases, we could likely see a really cool looking WE in the near future. Similar to a Master Series. And they have been doing these Elite Versions and TV Series belts as well, especially around Mania. So lets see what happens.

The paintwork on the Fig Inc Replicas was always the biggest problem for me. That's why I replaced all my old replicas with new WWE Shop versions. I really don't care about the logo, the quality overall is just better in my opinion.

I can only think the bars come disconnected from the main plate because on thinner plates they'd snap off too easily

The WWE version has the wrong shade of blue on the globe. I have a WWF pakistan winged eagle replica and it was designed bassed off of a real screenshot of the original title using the darker blue paint.

I have one of these in a display case. I would love to have it re-leathered, but it’s autographed by Bret Hart and Ric Flair. The signatures are on the leather patch under the snap-on buttons. Is it possible to preserve the signatures and put the patch onto the new leather? Edit: Forgot to mention it is the WWF version, not WWE.

When you sew velcro on the straps for the modern belts, does the portion with the velcro on it eventually break in with the rest of the strap to become flexible, or does the section with the velcro sewn in behave like one solid piece?

Its not much difference tbh. its a slight bit stiffer to begin with but it can be broken in for sure

My best guess is just a paint spill tbh. Theres no raised area blocking paint from spilling into the etched beak so my initial thought would be thats why

On the new version, the C in Champion is an altered G. You can tell because the bottom “arm” of the C comes up too high. When this belt was first shown, it said “Ghampion.” They quickly fixed the problem by altering their stamp, rather than recasting it with the correct spelling. On some versions, you can look closely and see an indentation where the missing line used to be.

What drives me nuts about the newer 2015 version is the off centered WW logos on all the plates. It’s like they just photoshopped the F off the WWF logo and didn’t bother shifting the logo slightly to the right to center it. Bugs me every time I look at it. Center the logos, curve the main plate, and attach the bars and you could have one of the best replicas they could make.

Agreed 100%! I didn’t actually notice the logos being off centre while filming this. Was pointed out to me once I uploaded this and it’s so obvious 😂 if they made the improvements you suggest it could be a fantastic replica!

I noticed that the WWF Winged Eagle belts on wweshop/euroshop is curved now. Must be that they are curving them all now minus the ones that aren't supposed to be curved.

Also on the WWE version, the WWE logos are off center with the exception of the logo plate. I don’t understand why they didn’t recenter the logos when removing the F, and it bugs the crap out of me.

I have the 2006 WWF winged eagle myself I could careless that the plates are 2mm because it being a world wrestling federation era belt it has to have the WWF logos for me. I also have a 2001 WWF big eagle also with the WWF logos. And I just won an auction for a 1999 original ECW tv title with the much rarer purple lettering.

Just curious but how is it that WWE was able to use the F logo all the way up to 2006? Wouldn’t that be copyright infringement? Also when did they stop using the F logo on the replicas?

I’m not 100% certain of the exact details but my understanding is when they changed their name to WWE they were only banned from using the WWF Scratch logo. I’m told they had a 10 year agreement to still be able to use the block WWF logo on merch up until around 2012.

Weirdly enough they were still using the block F logo until 2012 on merch. I believe they had a 10 year period after the name change where they could still use that one.

Hi Tony, The WWF logo ones tend to sell fairly easily, price wise if it’s in good condition as you say then I’ve seen them sell as standard anywhere between £350-£700. Sometimes it depends on when you’re selling too. For example the lead up to Mania or Xmas is usually when more people are looking to buy. At this time of year it may not be as profitable admittedly.

It was made before WWE reached an agreement with the World Wildlife Fund that they can use old footage without having to edit out the WWF logo in exchange for not being allowed to produce any new products or merchandise with the WWF logo. That agreement went into effect in 2012 if I recall correctly.

Salvador is correct. Although just to add the agreement was only for the BLOCK logo version of the WWF logo. The scratch logo not allowed from the time of the company name change in 2002.

I never understood that restriction over the scratch logo but not the block logo. I guess because it was the used and most recognized logo at the time and to avoid confusion with the new WWE scratch logo? 🤷‍♂️

Salvador R. Salcido As far as I understand it the scratch was banned in the Panda suit because it was the company logo being used at the time of the lawsuit. While the block logo was sort of “grandfathered in”. That’s my understanding of it at least. I could be way off though 😂
