Aug 2023 , reviewed pros and cons , goods and bads before buying our Nitro. We have a 2010 Ford Escape we like , and suv style 4x4 for many reasons in western Ks. Wife works at Post Office 6 days a week , 63 mile round trip , in ALL WEATHER. My wife spotted the one we bought and its still a looker to us with the front end , dark blue paint and flared fenders with nice original wheels. Its a 2007 SLT , 3.7 , 4 speed auto , which needs another gear agreed. Only 85,600 miles big pluss , little rust underneath , good interior. Tow package with extra coolant capacity , another pluss. Final was $10,800. Had for a week and a half and realy like it so far. Does need a little TLC , but no deal breakers. Just thought I would share now , compared to this vid when it was 2 years old.

Why do Haters come on here to talk shit. Why waste your time if you have nothing good to say? I know 2 Nitro owners who love their cars. If you want to drive a car that looks like every other car on the road, go ahead. But stop the hating.

I bought a 2007 dodge nitro a year ago very well kept before i got it but ever since i got it knock on wood but never gave me problems yet love this car

@@dtruth5769 there's 170,000 MI and I really like it. The only thing I don't like about the Dodge nitro is the computer module they end up going bad and when they do it will start randomly unlocking your locks your window will go down by itself you have to put the lock button on as soon as you unlock it it'll go down by itself your horn will start beeping a few times randomly driving down the road it's like it takes over the car like a robot but all these new cars and all their wiring and stuff like that is b*******. The person before me replaced it and it gives me some problems not much but I think that's what's happening because it did it to me a little while back with my window and my locks but it all stopped so I never went further on looking it up and replacing it cuz it gets expensive. I am selling it though if you want to buy it six grand it's yours lol

I have an 08 liberty 3.7 and 07 nitro 3.7 they’re both are great cars I just love driving them the nitro has 320k kms and still running strong love the 4x4 in winter

I liked my nitro a lot. Had a 2012 Nitro Heat. Was a nice suv. Traded it in a few years later for a charger RT awd. Was a great first car though.

I've owned a 2008 RT for the last year and a half. I'm quiet happy with it. Like the video says, the RT upgrade kills most of the handling pitfalls of the line Nitros. At 28K I've had to have my air conditioning evaporator fan replaced. A warranted part, of course. Before this I owned two Lincoln Mark VIII's and even a Mercedes 560 SEC. I find the simplicity and trouble free nature of this car INFINITELY more tolerable than many of Detroit's or even Europe's flash.

i have the R/T and the 4.0 260 bhp engine is awesome. altho i wouldn't go as far as to say over the top =P but a capable machine she is. i haven't driven lower models but from what i have heard the 3.7 with 210 bhp is barely enough to move this 2 tone beast in a sporty manor.

I loved my 2008 Nitro RT from 4 all the way up to 120,000 miles. ....Until I traded it in for a new X6.

My Nitro was past down to me, nothing but issues for my mother who put over 10k in it for repairs. Though I still use it today, I have no aspirations to put any more money into it.

I guarantee that if you were presented with a Nitro for $4k @ 12k miles...there would be NOTHING wrong with it. Got lucky with a mis-represented mdl on a website.

Hi Misty! I had the exact same problem. I found that a solution of 1-1 White Vinegar & water used in a shampooer did a great job removing the stains. I had to go over then twice. After letting them dry for a few days to make sure they did not re-appear, I applied spray ScotchGuard out of a can.

Just test drove the new '09. just te 3.7, not the 4L. I liked the ride. The wife wont look at anything else. other options are either too small, too expensive, or too big. The rav4 has that horrid side swing door. Also, with all the options packages, you cant get anything else in the class with 4x4, auto, a/c, remote start, sun-roof, prem speakers & Mp3, tow pkg, roof rack, and nice seats for less than $35k canadian. the nirto is less than $32k.

I bought an 08 impala SS and i do love the car. But after buying it i realized (Do i really need 300 plus horsepower) my SS isnt as practicle as the nitro.. Im 19 years old with a feyonce and a 6 month old son. Why do i need a really sporty vehcile? Long story short i wish i would of bought a Doge Nitro RT. More versative and practicle

And every other review ive seen but this one has a bunch of biased crap. sure it gets 2mpg worse than the rest of the class. no big deal. its the only base engine that will tow 5000lb with a decent off road pkg. the guy on consumer reports actually tried o make it look dificult to get into bu using the side step. and holding the top of the truck. As if anyone gets into an suv like that. and the plastics are no worse than anything else in the class. Thnx

I've nothing against the love an/or hate of this particular SUV...but KBB is about as boring as watching a Roman Empire collapse in the first century! An they are the LEADERs in valuing our vehicles that become a "third member"?! FFS. I have more emotional investment in my wallpaper, thank you.
