****PLEASE READ: I MESSED UP 2 PARTS DOING THIS. THE AC COMPRESSOR NEEDS TO BE RECHARGED PRIOR TO REINSTALLING. MAKE SURE THE O-RINGS ARE AN EXACT MATCH. IF YOU BREAK A BOLT, MAKE SURE IT IS AN EXACT MATCH. ****

The battery pan is about 6 bolts and the fuse box unclips. Makes taking the fan out so much easier.

The term recharge the compressor is incorrect terminology. In the context of air conditioning recharge means to put refrigerant into the system. Cellar Reno is talking about AC refrigerant oil. I have destroyed a perfectly good compressor and learned the hard way that they don't always put AC oil in the compressors when new or rebuilt. Usually there is some kind of a warning though. Use PAG 46 oil for the Murano. The whole system takes about five ounces and it's not all in the compressor. I'm not going to say put about two ounces in a dry compressor as there is probably a few more ounces in the lines, accumulator, condenser and evaporator unless fully purged. I like getting decent use compressors as they have oil in them and I add an ounce for good measure. I have lost only one compressor through ignorance (as noted) and I have replaced maybe 25 in my life as a DIY guy. The correct way though is to open the lines at each end. Blow flush through R134 parts or mineral spirits through R-12 parts. Replace receiver dryer/accumulator, o-rings, orifice tube, if equipped. Add oil and vacuum the moisture out of the system, long time. Do some reading and hit harbor freight. For $150 for gauges and a vacuum pump you will be amazed at the amount of friends you will collect. :-) Go to Walmart for the $9 cans of refrigerant.

Ok, i saw tow video saying replaci g c9mpressoer but do you have take radiator and condensor off?
@cellarreno61745 жыл бұрын
I had to take out the condensor, not the radiator. I did have to drain and disconect some hoses that connect to the radiator

Yes I’m reinstalling my alternator and just that clip at 5:47 is making my installation so hard
@tompentoney165 жыл бұрын
Yes same for me when I swapped my alternator. Once I had all of the alternator bolts out I was able to pulled the alternator up and out a little bit which gave me enough room to pull the clip off. It got quite damaged in the process!

Thomas P yea I got it off and I replaced the alternator

@@NFLYoungBoy223 yeah I broke my clip while taking my alternator off! You can buy a new alternator clip plug off ebay ($10) and solder it on if you break yours while taking off the old alternator.

Where did you get the compressor?

Ebay, $210 for the kit

Dude, I bought that same POS condenser off ebay for my 05 murano. SAME exact problem, the holes are not machine the correct distance apart, it will never go in, and if you try you're just going fuck up your hose fittings. Send that POS back.

Good to know it wasn't totally my fault!

Cellar Reno, your video helped me a lot replacing an old, leaking compressor today. But what did you mean by the compressor needed to be recharged first? I looked at several similar videos and did not realize you missed anything.
@cellarreno61744 жыл бұрын
According to the ac shop i brought it to, the compressor needs to be recharged (refilled) before it is reinstalled. My compressor was leaking and therefore empty.
@artbyrobot13 жыл бұрын
@@cellarreno6174 Ah I see what went wrong. When you refill AC refrigerant in a bone dry system, you first need to pour in AC compressor oil. This is often done BEFORE you put the new AC compressor in. However, it CAN be done by the guys recharging the AC system but you need to let them know this needs to be done. You can pour this oil in through the same tubing that you use to vacuum out the system and reintroduce refrigerant into the system. So the guys at the shop COULD fill the compressor, but blamed you since you didn't tell them it was empty up front. I'd advise you to refill your own system next time since you are a DIYer and its easy and you only need to buy the manifold AC refrigerant gauge tool ($12) and rent a free AC vacuum pump from your local auto parts store.

Question: Guy told my wife at a dealership that it would be $1200 to replace compressor. Does this sound right?
@Highsteel212 жыл бұрын
I just seen the video. I got a remanufactured in for $230 with core charge at autozone and Mieneke is going to put it in for about $500 labor. I would do it but it’s not worth the hassle over $500.

Would it be the same on a 08 nissan quest?
@HeartlessHopelessRecords3 жыл бұрын
Ok so this would apply to a 2008 Nissan Quest it's the same. 1. Remove Battery. 2. Remove Radiator Fan. 3. Remove Radiator. 4. Remove the AC Condenser. (Once you have it removed check to see if it's not clogged up, if it is BUY A NEW CONDENSER) 5. Remove the AC COMPRESSOR. Note: If AC CONDENSER is clogged and you install the Compressor it will NOT WORK. Note2: if you do not have the proper tools to flush the system of refrigerant but had a leak or something. Use an Air Compressor to flush it out. Put one end to one of the hoses untill you don't see anymore dripping of fluid. Note3: the pulley must be taken off to get the AC COMPRESSOR out . Hope I saved someone some time. God bless y'all! Rest In Peace DMX!
