I love how he completely slipped over putting the serpentine belt on. It's a lot harder to get to the tensioner than just "put the serpentine belt on".

I have an 08 Altima and the alternator is not in the same place it’s actually harder to get to because it’s about a foot below where yours is now.. I haven’t had mine fixed In 6 months I just miss my car!! Thanks for the help tho!

I have a 2010 and on the model it's also weged way down in there. Looks like the moved the alternator up for easy access in 2011+ models. Search for '2010 altima alternator' and there us at least one video showing a solution but even there the dude has to move front cover, the bumber, and thge entire radiator to get at it os it's still a pain.

Lighting in videos will never be the same as you experience when filming. Much more shadows become present for someone not familiar with that engine compartment.

I am having the same problem in mine. I think it’s the alternator. I’m getting mine replaced tomorrow cuz I got a new battery and it still did the same thing and would just randomly shut off while i was driving

This is surely an indicator that the Alternator is dying. It is in its final death throws. Inspect & Replace both the Belt and the Alternator at the same time. Move quickly, driving when the battery and brake light are flashing means that you are drawing the power off the battery, eventually the car will die, battery will drain, and you will need to replace both!

This is the same one advance sells as "carquest" . I've went through 2 autozone cheapest reman. And both regulators failed . Bouta bite the bullet for a brand new on rockauto

It seems that there are problems with the manufactured ones. The first one I got failed in about 10,000 miles. Just now, it seems that I need to replace the second one, which has also failed in about 10,000 miles. I'm tempted to buy a new one, but it's under warranty. However, if it were a job I couldn't do myself, I would have been bitten the bullet and just buy it brand new.

Hey man, I really appreciate your video. I have a 2008 4c Altima, my pulley broke off of my alternator, do you happen to know if you can replace the pulley or if I need to buy a new alternator? I don't want to rent a pulley puller if I don't have to lol. Thank you!

No, not at all but I chose to just because you have to take it off anyways might as well change it. Not necessary though. Thanks for the question!

What's the OE Manufacturer of the alternator and the Original part n umber? I would like to find the voltage regulator before I remove it and then have someone locally rebuild the alternator, thanks!

Nissan makes their own parts for their cars. When you get an oem part it will say Nissan Genuine Parts. I would recommend you just buy a reman alternator or a new alternator insteald of getting someone to rebuild it. A new nissan alternator will run you about 500 or so but you can find a remanufactured for about 150.00 for the altimas.(AC Delco reman ) Check online and you can see you can get it cheaper. I am running the ac delco reman right now and have had it for 1.5 years and no issues. I know you can get a new one from like Rockauto for about 250.00.

It looks like the plug on this video is at the top of the alternator. On my 08 3.5 it's near the bottom. Hoses in the way? Do I remove them to get plugged

Is the alternator in a different spot for the 2012 3.5? I watched one video that made it look a lot harder. He pulled out the radiator and the fan and all that. That you. If we can do it from your video it shouldn't be nearly as hard to do.

Man.... No one ever shows how to put the damn serpentine belt on. Mine is too tight, even with the tensioner pulled as far back as it'll go

@@brandondiy1155 I put a drop of WD-40 on my finger and rubbed it on the flat pulley for the AC, slid it over that one, and then cleaned the little WD-40 that was on there off with a rag.

I am not sure this will work for you, I would consult a mechanic. Try finding one that is mobil, so they can come to you. Sorry you are having trouble.

Absolutely not! The 3.5L is an entirely different animal. That one takes about 4 hours if you know what you are doing.

@@luischapa307 You definitely didn't. The 2.5L can be done in 30 minutes with proper tools and moving at a faster pace than you should. For the 3.5L engine, it will take well over an hour to even get to the alternator.
