Gordon tried the same thing he used at the fall race last year and it almost worked again, but unlike JJ last year, Busch had the sense to block Gordon, while Montoya then hung Jeff out to dry and got back down to the low line....Huge gamble doesn't pay off, basically you either win the race or you finish 19th, on this day Jeff ended up with the ladder

the green/white/checkerd is implemented at all tracks in all series of nascar, its just that the caution came out after the white flag, ending the race.

well, uncalled for may be the wrong description but it was a bummer it happened. i would have liked to see this race stay green to the finish, as well as the coke zero 400, last two plate races the race ended under caution because of a pileup on the last lap.

Apparently, NASCAR felt that if Regan stayed on the bottom line above the yellow line, Tony would've saw him, and it would've been a photo finish. This one was pretty easy to see that Kyle was forced, but you're right. It's bullshit. NASCAR supports the teams with all of the money. They tried to show that not being true by giving Keselowski the win. That's all that was, a cover. They could've DQed Brad for aggressive driving.

yea fallenangels youre right that car had some awsome racing it was like a mix of restricter plate racing and unristricted racing by the way the two cars can pull away with big speeds like that that was some awsome racing coming to the end im suprised they didnt wreck like 20 times with all that 3 wide 4 wide stuff.

the reason they threw the yellow here was because the accident was in turn 2, lately if theres an accident in or off of turn 2 they will throw the yellow because some cars dont really slow down until then and they want to give them as much time as possible to slow. they didnt throw it at daytona in the 07 500 because it was coming to the line and they would be well slowed down before they got back around to the scene of the accident.

This race started the downfall of restrictor plate racing. Those last 5 laps shows that no one in the top 5 especially Jeff Gordon who shocked me the most didn't want to pass Kyle Busch. Can't wait to see what happens today at Talladega.

my thoughts exactly. if its the final lap of the race they need to just race back, or if its a green white checker situation and they wreck they should just let them race back to the line and call it there.

The majority of Gordon haters were Sr. fans, they were upset that a young kid was roughing up their hero, the funny part was that Dale and Jeff loved it, they were having fun and got along fine. Jeff earned Dales respect. After Dale passed and continuing until now, Jeff gets mostly cheers instead of boo's.

I know this comment is old, but your right, but its actually much safer, do you remember the Sylvania 300 in i think in 2003, when Dale Jarrett crashed? They didnt have the new rule out yet,so they were racing back in the finish, right were dale was. No body hit, thank god, but some drivers were complaining about the rule. When you have the time watch it. You'll see what i mean.

He was a rookie... not entirely his fault. If Dale Jr. (the so-called veteran!) hadn't sent McMurray up the hill on a bad bump NONE of it would have happened, period.
