This 2008 model Terios is the rare and sought after automatic model of this compact 4x4. 2006 saw a major revamp of the Terios, and this new shape car is light years ahead of its predecessors' in terms of its design and styling. In my opinion these cars do exactly what you want from a modern 4x4 and filled the void left by Toyota and Suzuki when they enlarged the Rav4 and Vitara models, leaving a void in the compact 4x4 market. This newer shape Terios looks fabulous - not dissimilar to a Toyota Rav4 of that era - just smaller. It has a spacious 5 seat interior and is as easy to drive as a modern super-mini. Of course it also has the commanding driving position and excellent view of the road you get with all 4x4's - Its just that with a Terios you also gain the maneuverability which is so often lacking in the larger, more cumbersome 4x4's. With it's permanent 4 wheel drive system and locking centre differential, the Terios is more than capable of anything that you can throw at it in real life. It will not get stuck in the snow and is more than capable of powering out of a muddy field. It is also a lot more capable off road than a lot of the much larger Japanese SUV's - Come winter you may well find the little Terios embarrassing some of the larger, and far more expensive machinery with its combination of light weight, compact dimensions and full-time four wheel drive. Along with it's excellent road manners this car also boasts excellent build quality and reliability - We have always found Daihatsu cars to be superbly reliable and many of the parts on this latest model are borrowed from Toyota, who are also famed for their engineering excellence. It may be small but the Terios feels quite tough - It feels as though it has been built to last.
In short, the Terios is a great car that has a majority of the benefits of a 4x4, and a modern super-mini all rolled into one, high quality package. This stunning little car even has rear reversing sensors to aid parking - something that make it all the more appealing as an alternative to a super-mini. Thanks to that elevated driving position visibility is excellent - and the kids will love the fact they are able to see over the hedges. This is a very easy car to drive and the comfortable seats are fully adjustable making it the perfect place to relax. It is comfortable enough to transport a small family long distances with ease. The little Terios has a real quality feel that even larger offerings from rival manufacturers would struggle to match. From behind the wheel this could easily be a brand new car and in my opinion the automatic gearbox really is the icing on the cake for this car. Brilliant to drive and a great used buy which is a rare sight on the use market - If you want it, be quick!!!
