I have 280k miles on mine. Yes 280,000 miles. I mainly had ignition issues. I have the 2009 Mercury mariner

@@kennybrooks8374 I don't really know. It has a readout for that and a "miles till empty" but I'm always driving city stop and go, spending more time at stop lights than driving. I do know I only fill it up once a month or so, but I mainly do short trips. I think I remember the readout saying 14 mpg but not sure.

I've got the premier trim with 17" wheels and a V6. Beautiful and bought it used in 2019 with 132k on it for $4300 Car pulled out in front of me recently and they gave me $7500 insurance. Bought the car back for $800 and spent $1300 getting front end fixed. Has almost 141k on it now.

@@jondoe2341 lol just purchase an extended warranty. They have aftermarket powetrain warranties. I have a 99 Camry as my clunker so go speak lol

I just bought an 05 mariner premier it barely had 100 thousand miles I hear they can last up to 400 thousand miles I love my new baby

Used the torque issue in the steering to negotiate $900 for an 2008, with 120 k. I'm going to replace that part n resale it for a quick come up 😊

The first year of Gen2 (2008) got the Gen1 engines listed here in the newer body. I don't know the reason for the overlap for this model year. The 2009 model year for the Mariner/Escape/Tribute got the upgraded VVT engine with more hp, more torque, more mileage and 2 more speeds in the auto. I've owner a 2005 and 2008 - different bodies but same drive train and I really liked them.

That’s good to know you still like em. I just bought an 08 escape with the 2.3 for 6.7k and it’s not fast at all…but I know the motor is atleast sturdy and reliable. I had to get it repaired a bit to bring it up to speed but parts were incredibly cheap, guessing because they made zillions of em

I've recently found out that the engines in the Gen 2 engines (2009-12) have problems with the i-VTC (VVT). So, the simpler Gen 1 engines in the simpler 2008 Escape seem to have an advantage regarding reliability.@@jimmym5262

How many miles do you have on your Mariner and how many miles per gallon do you get still

The name Mariner means Sailor don't know why Mercury named their small Crossover SUV after a sailor seems silly.

The latest V6 produces 314 naturally aspierated, 3.8. and thin theres the 3.5 producing 370 horsepower getting 30 miles to the gallon. Both made by ford. 300 horsepower doesing belong in this grocery getter. ten years ago 150 horsepower from a V6 was normal.

this is not a fun car if you plan on sleeping in the back seats and you happen to be 6+ foot.
