This is a video to possible help people with their cars not going into drive. This is a Nissan Maxima 2008 gear selector would not go into drive just reverse and neutral.
1st thing you wanna check is oil fluid then check your shifter linkage cable ends make sure they are tight and that their is no play. This helped me hope it helps you.

@@nestormacias9951 won’t move in drive and it backs up with no problem. When it’s set in drive it goes no where

its usually the speed sensor on gearbox ,not speed sensor for speedo

My 2011 Rogue won’t go into reverse but works good going into drive. Tranny fluid is good too.

Try checking the shifter linkage cable. Does it go to neutral by any chance?

@@Meli3455 it might be the transmission valve body. It’s what engages what gear your in. Just a thought

I have an issue with a 2003 nissan pathfinder, when it starts in cold engine got no reverse until 9 or 10 minutes, as it warms it starts moving in Reverse, what can be happening to the transmission. I replaced fluids and nothing.

Got a Nissan Versa hatchback 09 it shifts into Reverse but not into D automatically it takes a second to shift into Drive but if I put it in D1 it goes into gear if I put it in Drive it catches the shift?

Sounds like it could be your transmission control solenoid. Solenoids might be getting stuck. Make sure you have the proper amount of transmission fluid

My 2012 altima was broken into. They broke my shifter, I pulled everything apart but can't seem to find the problem. Can I buy A whole new shifter?????

Yes you can should be called a shifter assembly

That sounds more like a solenoid might not be engaging.

My car fails to move in Drive (D), as well as D2 or D1. To initiate movement, I must start the engine and leave it in D1 for approximately 15 minutes. Otherwise, the car does not respond. Any suggestions on what might be causing this issue?

Only reason I can see this happening is if you are in sub zero temps. Otherwise not sure.

any Nissan with a CVT is crap after 100K especially ones that are V6.. your problem looks like range sensor or its adjustment lookup on how to set it. are at least that's what they were on the older maxima. basically you put in neutral and you aligned the sensor after loosening up some bolts. on the older RE4F04B transmissions on olde rmaxima that's how you did it. older maximas where alot better, I have one that is 23 years old and nearly 244k miles which I am getting rid of due to transmission problem that started at 202k and been limping along since 4+ years only having gears 1,2,3 and R no 4th (OverDrive)
