2008 [SDw] The old Montzen Line p2 - Diesel's in action! Reeks 55, class 66 - The Montzen Viaduct!

The Montzen Line was filmed in February 2008 and 2010. This is a widescreen version upscaled from 4:3 SD to 16:9 HD of a part of the original REOS DVD 304, that has already been released on YT.
In this part we are line side in 2008 between the road bridge just outside off Gemmenich (Rue Nouvelaer), in the forest and at the impressive Montzen Viaduct. A superb mix of diesel engine's are roaring past the camera!

Love the sound of the class 55s. CFL had the same as class 1800s...

cette époque me manque.. j'en ai fais des vidéos là , dormi sur place aussi, vidéos de nuits, des mythiques série 55 qu'on entendait à 3 kilomètres

Mooie beelden, dit is de periode dat ik al zo'n beetje gestopt was met filmen op deze lijn vanwege de modernisatie en electrificatie. Ik wist namelijk helemaal niet dat het 90 jaar (in 2008) oude betonnen bruggetje bij Gemmenich vervangen is door een nieuw en hoger exemplaar.

HLD 55 should be in theory cleared for DB Rbf & ÖBB Vbf which are Hagen Vorhalle Köln Kalk Nord Wien Kledering Bremen Grolland & Gröplingen Mainz Bischofsheim for Frankfurt Stuttgart Kornwestheim Villach Süd & Salzburg Gnigl. For the HLD55 seen here, it's headed to Köln Kalk Nord via SFS Koln Aachen by branching off after Koln Ehrenfeld and South Bridge
