The thought of a C2 is scary!

Hi. We do not currently have any C2s in stock. To be honest, we only want to sell good buses. Finding good C2s is very difficult. There are a bunch of them out there with wiring issues. Multiplex wiring, a large number of computers, and complexity, makes these buses very difficult to repair. Many C2s on the market have electrical problems that take many hours and many dollars to find and repair. If the school has given up on the bus, you might consider not buying it. If a school is selling a 2009 C2, but still running 2006 models everyday, there is a reason why the '09 is being sold. If the school is selling off an entire model year of buses that are fresh off routes, chances are far better that the buses are good. If we do have a C2 on the lot, it is a good one!!

Nope. Normal start. Oil pressure is not the only thing required for this engine to run. The computer has to receive information from all of the sensors to decide how much fuel to squirt.

This bus (I think) went to Costa Rica. I haven't heard any news on it

Some schools have their buses on a 7 year turn-over. Others lease their buses for 3 or 5 years. Each district is different. Some schools will not run a bus over 100,000 miles. Whoever is in charge makes these decisions.

Generally speaking, I'd say NJ has the worst buses in the country, as far as maintenance and mechanical issues. MN and WI have some serious rust issues, and run a lot of hydraulic brakes. We rarely get a Nj, MN, or WI bus home without blowing a brake line and needing to fix it on the road. I try to blow out the lines at the school, before getting on the road. Michigan and Pennsylvania also run hydraulic brakes and have brake line rust issues, but MI has a far better inspection program than NJ, WI, or MN. As for overall condition of the bus, mechanical, appearance, interior, etc., one state stands out FAR behind all of the others. Texas. Their buses are not terribly well maintained, generally speaking, and it is near impossible to find a bus with all the seats matching. I'm not just saying seat cover color. I mean they put every brand of seat in every bus, mismatched. Different height seats in the same bus would never cut it in most states. Texas does it all the time. Also, it is near impossible to find a TX bus that has a floor covering in good condition. Big chunks of linoleum are missing, the plywood is spongy or missing in places, and the buses are simply not good for most any other state. They could never pass inspection in most states. A few TX buses actually make it to FL without needing mechanical work, which makes a TX bus better than a NJ, MN, or WI bus. BUT, for overall condition and our ability to resell the bus, we spend a fortune trying to get a TX bus back into salable condition.

I am suprised you didn’t mention NY. NY buses are notorious for rust.
