This joke quite frankly has gotten old. Marlins are thankfully out of that CONVERTED football stadium. Left field was never seated hardly ever because it was just an unwanted area (a lot of open gaps). Also, these are the Marlins. at the time weren't even 20 years old. All of America already had time before the Marlins to choose their fav team if they even like baseball. As a fish fan, at least we have rings in our short existence.. unlike 1/4 of MLB teams who have less or none.

Remember watching this game. I knew we had no chance when I saw Hahn was behind the plate. So the pitch O'Flaherty threw in Boston was a ball (right down the middle) but the pitch to McCann in the other batter's box is a strike. Makes perfect sense according to the Eric Gregg strike zone in Braves games manual.

umpires should NEVER walk towards a dugout, horrible Bill Hohn
@Ray36454 жыл бұрын
Sure they should -- but only if they plan on ejecting a player(s). They can never allow themselves be intimidated by players on the bench carping at them. Sometimes, as a last resort, the only way to stop that kind of behavior is to confront them -- directly -- at the dugout itself to inform them that they are gone.

Ray3645 Bill Hohn is an antagonistic umpire. He couldn’t control the games he called. He made outrageous calls and baited players into engaging him for it. It’s like he made these horrible calls on purpose so he could bait them into arguments. There was always a problem with him in multiple games and teams. The common denominator is this umpire.

@@OBESPRING1982 bad calls are made all the time. especially in the era before slo motion replay when the Braves when on their run that has been unprecedented and unparalleled in ANY sport not just baseball. You probably cherry-picked a few examples of Glavine getting some calls that were 1 or 2 inches off the plate. that was the norm. every umpire had his own strike zone on any given night and as long as the zone wasn't fluctuating over the course of the game it was fair and I can tell you for every time the Braves got a bad call there were probably 10 calls that went the other way. ESPECIALLY in the postseason. It was CLEAR to any objective observer that after 14 years in a row the umpires started getting tired of seeing the Braves in the offseason.
