Also Nate J's HVR200A sounds like that when it's powered on I think it's something to do with the voltage being different. Also you can date this Henry from the serial number on the rating sticker the first 2 digits are the year and the second two are the week

I’ve always noticed how the American version of machines firing up sound sounds different in the us then it does in the uk I don’t know why that is but it must be the region.

Probably the voltage difference. Remember in the US we use 120V, whereas in the UK they use 240V.
