Some other videos say u can go highway speeds with cover in full up position because of the rods,is that correct? Very good install video btw

For owners of the 2019 RAM, this is identical to the MOPAR Tri Fold, Hard Folding Tonneau cover, you get a 3 year warranty with the MOPAR. It's pretty easy to install, unless you're picky like me, then you will fuss over some of the finer details. I did not put prop rods on, just stowed them in my RAM Bin inside. They are a bit long, but they still fit at an angle. I did this because an owner of one complained about them coming loose inside the bed. I can't stand having stuff rolling around in the bed of a truck.

This arrived Saturday and I installed it. Problem is it doesn’t fit right. The rails are on correctly and right but one of the bolts won’t go through the metal slot. When I flip it down all the way the last latches won’t latch. The cover is too wide by half an inch or so. Sucks.

Can you secure it when folded in the 1st and 2nd position while driving. Or does it either have to be close or up against the windshield to be locked in place. If open in 1st position and not being able to secure it the wind would flip it towards closed position while driving

Each postion it "locks" the cover in that position. So if you only fold the first section towards the cab, it will stay locked, same with the second section. You can hear it "click" or lock when you close each section down. That click is the cover locking into place and it will stay locked into place until you pull the release cord for it.

I understand that part locks in. But the part thats folded over on top of the part that locked in can be slammed shut if the wind gets a hold of it

I have the mx4 and some people keep that rubber piece where the elevator bolts go through to attach the cover to the rails and others remove it which is the correct way to install? I figured they were there for packaging purposes but others say they fill the gap.

If you’re and SAE guy, use a 9/16 wrench or socket.

Does this particular MX4 for the 09-18 RAM not use the drain tubes like the rest of the trucks use?

Permanent water spots after the dealer washed it after the first oil change. Tried everything and they wouldn’t come out. The it faded, scratches easy and the rubber seals curl up after the first few hot summer days. It’s crap.the rivets rusted, etc etc.

No you would have to open the tailgate to open the cover

How safe is cargo? It seems someone could use a wire hanger from the outside to pull cord.

If someone wants into any cover bad enough they will get into it including one piece hard covers. I had one of these covers on my 2016 Ram 2500 6' 4" bed and never had any problems, I just ordered one for my 2019 Ram 1500 Classic Eco Diesel with a 5' 7" bed. This is a nice quality product.

Our family purchased two of these. One for a ram and one for a Silverado. Both professionally installed. Both rarely used and with proper care. Both turned to junk in about a year. Both had the same common issues. I would NEVER buy another one of these over priced, poorly designed and constructed units again. One top of these issues they are also heavy to operate, don’t seal well, limit bed depth usage when down, operate poorly and have a serious risk of injury when using them. I am not here to give a full review of all of the issues and problems but rather to offer my advice to never ever buy one of these CRAPFlip covers. You’ve been warned. out.
