it's a clean tuck brother... I Purchased the exact same truck about 2 or 3 years ago so I wouldn't have to drive my mustang in the winter months in Canada. But i couldn't leave it as a beater a well a few projects later 80% of its parts were replaced and now it's a offroad tuck... So much fun these trucks are amazing! And myself like you were on these trucks before the whole " FORD F****** RANGER" fad. Now everyone is starting to realize what fun little tucks they are. Soild engine, mostly soild transmission all you gotta do is stop them from rusting out under you and they can take a beating!!!

On my 02' ranger I didn't have to mess with the wiring for the led turn signals, I just switched the turn signal relay over to a electric one and it fixed any issues very easily. Your truck really stand out from all the others you did a great job.

I have a 08 sport model 4.0, half doors, with a manual. It has FX4 upgrades from the factory. 4.10 limited-slip, 3 skid plates. Also has extra leafs. Not sure about the shocks because I replaced them before I knew about the FX4 upgrades. I put coil overs on the rear. What got me to look into the upgrades on my truck was I had to replace the AC condenser . Ordered the right one based on sport model info and when I pulled the old condenser out, Which is very easy to replace, pushing the radiator out of the way, I saw that the mounting fixture was different than the condenser I ordered. Found out that the Condenser I required was for the FX4. They have different mounting on the bottom. That is what got me looking into the upgrades this truck has. There are other upgrades that make this sport closer to an FX4 than the sport itself. Great truck.

I liked most of the mods you did to your truck. As a bit of advice, I thought you were a bit nervous and disorganized. You should made a list of the items you want to discuss, and go over it before your start to video. Also, you need to slow down your narrative. Just calm down, it's ok if you make a mistake. Don't rush, and it will turn out better.

EDIT: Upon some more research, R8 is actually 4.10 torsen with LSD. 31 spline 8.8. I said 4.56 because I am not too familiar with rear gear stuff and the Internet said R8 stands for 4.56. However, it was revealed to me that rangers never came with 4.56. Just so everyone knows. 👍🏼

Nice truck! I have a black 2006 Ranger that I baby like you do to yours. I have done a few mods to it, and most recently I installed 3 rear red ID lights under the tailgate. I had to be careful of the access hole for the spare tire release mechanism, which you put a rod into to lower the spare tire. It looks like you covered yours up with that LED lighting system under your tailgate. How do to get your spare tire released?

Any idea how much mpg you lost with this tire/rim combo? I was going to do the same setup on my 2010 Ranger so I researched this combo and the tires are 50+ lbs and the rims are 40 lbs 😬 That's a lot of rotational mass. They do make a "P" rated Ko2 in a 17 inch rim size that is 44lbs which I'm comptemplating. Sucks, because I like your setup but I also don't wanna lose a ton of mpg.

Be interesting to compare this to a maverick fx4 since the maverick is closer in size to the old ranger than the new ranger.

First off, that is a really nice Ranger. You have the last year of the FX4 (I'm sure you knew that already) I have 2 FX4 Rangers that are the same color as yours, but the colors are switched around.( A 2007 Fx4 Level II (the last year of the Level II) and a 2008 FX4 level 1 with the 5-speed manual transmission and the blue seats, so needless to say, I'm pretty much an expert when it comes to Ford Rangers but there's just a few things I don't know about them and maybe you can clear this up. Why did Ford lower the FX4s in 2008 and 2009? I'm in the process of raising my 2008 up to the height of my 2007 so I can get decent size tires on it. I love my 2007 because it has the full length center console with the 290 Watt Audiophile system with the black leather seats and black interior all over. It also has the D.S.G. Alcoa wheels and I've been told that those are rare as a unicorn. I think Ford really screwed up when they eliminated the black interior. It also seems like my 2008 FX4 doesn't have the 31 spline 8.8 rear rear axle because the axle tubes look like they are a smaller diameter than my 2007 and you can definitely tell that the U-bolts are smaller.

Alright imma correct u on a few things, the leather seats are not factory, rangers did not come with leather seats for any trim level so those are aftermarket. The center console is after market, rangers did not come with center consoles! Please do not say that they were factory cause they were not!
