2009 Honda CR-V AWD AMSOIL Transmission Fluid Change

Күн бұрынHonda CR-V AWD Transmission Fluid Change is extremely easy compared to most Transmissions because you don't have to change the transmission filter.
All you do is drain the transmission and fill the transmission two times. This all-wheel drive transmission took about three and a half quarts in the transmission pan.
I recommend getting 7 quarts of automatic transmission fluid.
The all-wheel-drive model has the transfer case inside the transmission so it takes more ATF fluid than the front wheel drive model.
Drain the transmission fluid. Then put about 3.2 quarts in. Drive the car 5 miles and then drain the pan again. Then refill it with another 3.2 quarts.
You will get most of the ATF fluid out by doing this.

About 3.5 quarts drained out of my 2008 Honda CRV, so I replaced that amount. Why would it be different?

Yeah the transmission pan only holds a portion of the total fill capacity there's more fluid in the torque converter this is the look up guide it'll give you everything for your specific model also it's a little different on the all-wheel drive I believe. Which is much better!! Amsoil fuel efficient ATF signature series The Blue type or OEM Honda ATF DW1 ?? Both of them are Suitable for Honda civic 2012 AT

Well the amsoil signature series ATF fluids are 100% synthetic they have a much higher film strength they keep the metal parts separated so the transmission will run cooler smoother you'll have faster shifts you'll have better cold flow properties and cold temperatures so it's a totally different world.

Go with the Amsoil Fuel-Efficient ATF fluid. It shifts better and gets better gas mileage. Even though I didn't use Amsoil Fuel-Efficient ATF, I used Tribodyn MV-ATF on my sister's 2012 Civic EX-L by draining and filling it 2 times. After the first drain and fill with 1 quart of Honda DW-1 and 2 quarts of TribodynMV-ATF, the car was driven for 2 months, then drained and filled with 3 quarts of Tribodyn MV-ATF. The shifts are much smoother and quicker, and just like the Amsoil Fuel-Efficient ATF, it does have the film strength, despite being a full synthetic ATF. But Amsoil Fuel-Efficient ATF, which is 100% synthetic, is the best choice.

Have a 2011 CRV I did the differential change just like I saw in your video everything came out perfect but I noticed that's the c RVs they accelerate a little funny I don't think I have transmission problems I think they were built like this when I accelerate they accelerate at a high rate can you answer my question thank you very much

That's something that's in the computer mapping inside the chip on Honda and they're very sensitive with the gas pedal and I've actually driven the CVT and I noticed that exact same thing

Is the transfer case in conjunction with the transmission fluid on this vehicle or is there a separate drain and refill for the transfer case? I can't seem to find a separate drain and fill plug for the transfer case.

Great question my courageous ostentatious bro! The transmission takes about an extra quart of oil compared to the non four-wheel drive because the transmission in the transfer case is all in one

If it has a dipstick I always check it when it's hot. If there's no dipstick I usually just replace what I drained out. And I usually always double-check the form just to make sure it sounds right if there's no dipstick

I also recommend the pi performance improver for your vehicle will make a huge difference and the upper cylinder lubricant will make a big difference in fuel mileage for you. I also recommend the Dominator coolant boost you'll see that under coolant that one will make a huge difference this winter for your car warming up quicker👍

Yes however it's inside the transmission and a standard transmission drain and fill is completely fine you do not have to replace the filter inside the transmission

Just depends on the vehicle if the vehicle has a changeable filter you are best doing it every time you change the fluid. Most transmissions you want to change the fluid every 30 to 60,000 mi if you're doing all city driving sometimes you want to change it at about 20,000 mi

followed your instructions and i have an issue... after adding ATF through the funnel, the level shows high. in fact 3/4 inch above the 2 holes on the dipstick. should i be concerned? should i remove fluid?

Yeah it's good to check the fluid level with it hot in park with it running. It should be right in the middle of the dipstick of the cross hatches

I'm not sure I know if it's too high it can overflow and you'll get fluid everywhere I would definitely make sure it's in the middle of the cross hatches when it's hot

Don’t check Honda fluid with the car on. Honda is different, you check the fluid hot with the car off and on level ground.
