Great to find a car show that doesn't have overbearing, cheesy rock music, with employees screaming and swearing at each other. Leno is a great, ego-free presenter. Well done sir.

Jay, I'm sure you know that Hurst shifter pistol grip was developed with Chrysler in Highland Park Michigan . well I'm happy to say that I was one of the test drivers and mechanics that continuously worked on that project till it was done . I had to make sure that it remained very shiftable .

Man, I'd love to have this and also a black and gold one. When I was 24 years old, I bought a brand new '74 Hurst Olds right off the showroom floor. It was a W-30 455 and it was Cameo White with Gold stripes and a padded black vinyl top with a white strip that ran across the car from door to door. Man was I in Heaven when I got behind the wheel. In '76 I traded it for a Chevrolet Good Times Van. Stupid stupid stupid!

Yes.Looking back on it now it may have been a dumb thing to do. But,I'll bet there was a whole lot of fun had in that van.

This is actually a very nice "gentleman's" hot rod, just as Mr. Flint asserts. A small but overlooked feature is that the stripes are PAINTED under the clear coat, which anyone who has lived with vinyl stripes over the paint will tell you HUGELY desirable. And all the talk of making the motor "livable under the horsepower" is much appreciated in this day and age of hugely over-boosted tuner cars. Vortech (in this case) and Procharger both make very nice and very livable centrifugal supercharger applications for most popular street car applications. Good stuff!

My favorite car, next to the Mustang. I really like the way Mopar adhered to its old school looks while the updated Hemi powerplant just churns out the torque. The supercharger makes sure nobody is sloughing off.

I love MOPAR, thank you Jay. I have very fond memories of my 65 Barracuda, V-8, under . $ 3,000. new. No problems for 9 years. Fold down the rear seat, huge area under glass. Also very comfortable ride. My Dad had a 57 DeSoto, also a great car. Like you say, it had a bullet proof drive train, and perfect suspension. Good memories. In those days GM cars had rock and roll suspensions, driving boats.

Beautiful cars. Though I clean my old car with a tooth brush, sadly I don't think I'll ever have a chance to own such a magnificent machine as life has gotten to expensive, and the cash goes to other places of my needs, not to mention my wife would be disappointed.Although she knows I could fix it myself. In fact it has a Vortech supercharger. The compressor looks very much like a turbocharger, but indeed it is driven by the crank instead of exhaust gases. It does not have the usual whine, and power delivery is quite smooth, the whole assembly is rather small. It is a nice packadge.

Supercharging is always pushing air into the motor so you always have your power (more or less), unlike turbos that must be spooled up before they really start having effect.
