Just an FYI this fix will make the tailgate open, but the tailgate will not lock. It's not getting a ground because the BCM is not grounding it. The real fix needs to be diagnosed.

Thanks for this video bro I ordered the part off eBay and swapped it out and did the same nothing and grounded it and nothing but when I plugged the old switch in it worked the 1 I ordered on eBay the +- was backwards so I said screw it lol and straight wired it with new ground and it’s awsome again thanks

I have this problem with my 2009 Maxima, the trunk will not open with the key fob, trunk button, or the button on the dash. I was able to go through the fold-down seat and pull the handle in the trunk, BUT!!! once I pulled the handle, the trunk opened and the cable broke away for the little handle. I have not had the trunk open since then, driving around with a spare in my back seat. Again, I am not going to the Nissan dealership to get robbed, I have a mechanic cousin, I will have him look at it. Thanks again for an informative video.

@jules mechanics I have a 2009 Nissan versa sedan. My trunk won’t open at all. The button release broke as did the key whole for the trunk. My back seats don’t fold down either to get into trunk. Was wondering if you had any answers or tips for me. Or if imma have to take the L and take it to a professional to get the trunk fixed.

Is there a certain gauge wire that this needs to be? Also looking for 09 Versa.

Bro that’s so cool thank you for the video, but the lock is always unlocking even without key on or unlock the car because of its direct connection. Hope you can find a solution for that and make another video ❤

I have a question if you repair the ground like that if you lock the car will the rear hatch be locked? Or will you still be able to open the rear hatch only since all the other doors are locked?? I did that repair and locked all doors and the rear hatch your still able to open. So want I can do right now.

Now that you helped me fix the hatch on my 2009 Nissan Versa. I have a question for you. My horn wouldn't work nor my cruise control, and the air bag light is flashing on the dash. I replaced the clock spring and that fixed my horn and the cruise control but the air bag light is still flashing on the dash. Ive tried resetting it by turning the key in the on position waiting for the light to flash then wait 5 seconds and repeat 3 times but that didn't work. Any ideas?

Question. I did what you did. made the motor work and all. but just kept locking and unlocking continuously. Could I have used a bad wire cable or something? I couldn’t even use the button to open the door so it didn’t completely work for me. I’m thinking it’s the cable wire I used or just an electric shortage in my car mabey. I got a trunk actuator from the junk yard of a 07 and switch it but still didn’t work. Mabey that one doesn’t work needer but that’s the one that kept switching close and open in me while I connected the wires together. Might have to go back and get another one

dang how much those things cost you? My auto shop guy told me it's gonna be $600 to replace the truck panel because there's bunch wires inside

this scheme of the wire on the ground works only once there, the lock does not work, loose the wire and connect it back, pick up once the front passenger door is not locking

This hack fixed the issue but car trunk can be opened even if you lock the car.
