In this video I show how to remove the HVAC panel, clean the fan and temperature switch contacts and re-install.

You just saved me a whole boat load of trial and error. This happened to mine after I had to replace the radio. I’ve been dreading taking it back apart and then guessing at how to fix the controls. You just saved me a headache and a half. Earned a subscriber. Thank you so much for this.

I just did this in my 2007 Santa fe and it fixed the random fluctuating fan speeds that was driving me crazy, also another tip for those of you with ocd (Like me) while you have the hvac panel out its a good opportunity to clean the knobs. They have tiny little grooves in them that get filled with disgusting gunk i used a toothpick for that and it worked quite well just hold the hvac panel upside down while you do this so the gunk doesnt fall back down onto the panel and possibly into the circuit board, then give the knobs a good wipe down with an alcohol wipe or something similar, and your knobs will be nice and clean.

Thanks. I followed your directions and it took all my anxiety away. AND, it fixed my problem. The wife's car and we live in Florida......no AC makes for an unhappy spouse. I'm golden thanks to you.😁

Very helpful. Thanks for putting this video together. This did the trick for me on my 2011 Santa Fe. My climate control system is working like new again. I did deviate a little from your procedure. I removed the faux wood trim starting from the ignition side working toward the front passenger door (left to right). It was quick and I only had to remove the trim up to the glove box.

No trim tool, you can wrap a blade screwdriver with tape in a pinch. Just be careful

Hey Gary terrific tutorial. I also have a 2010 Santa Fe with a similar problem. The unit turns "on" by itself. I press the "off" button and seconds later it turns "on". When I turn unit on for heat or a/c I have no issues at all. Do you think I should clean center control where "OFF" switch is located? I thought about getting a Priest to perform an exorcism but then I came across your video.
@garysgarage2118 Жыл бұрын
Could be a faulty AC switch. Exorcism can’t hurt. I never turn mine off always run on low fan to bring in some fresh air.

Gary, I never thought of leaving unit on. So i gave it a shot for a couple days before replying. Terrific suggestion. Best part no exorcism required. Thank you sir!

My Hyundai Santa Fe 2001 stopped blowing any air or heat. I found out it was my blower switch (the thing you turn from low to high speeds) It was fixed for a few days then my ac fuse blew I replaced it and it started working again. Few days later fuse blew again. I replaced it again but it did not fix it that time 😩😩 Please help me with some ideas to check out. Thanks in advance 🙌

I have a 2010 Kia Soul with intermittent fan quits. When I hit the side of dash by the fan switch it comes back on …
@garysgarage21182 жыл бұрын
Lots of possibilities. If spinning the fan speed dial up and down doesn’t bring it back it’s a different type of problem.

Mr gary, can you show how to fix the middle of aircond panel which not function well ( no respone when pressing )

That type of problem needs a hands on diagnosis. If it’s beyond you try a pick n pull replacement. Of bring it to a professional. Cheers

You do know dielectric grease is a rubber based grease, right?.... Rubber is an insulator... You do not want rubber slopped all over small, delicate circuitry...
@garysgarage21186 ай бұрын
Sorry it is made from silicone. It prevents corrosion and lubricates and will not dry out or conduct electricity hence it will not affect the circuit. The repair is still working great BTW.
