I was speaking with my mother recently and she said how terrible it would be for those who have no belief in God. This reaffirms how people will become hopeless when faced by the troubles that lie ahead and are not close to our Lord. Gold bless Fr Pat Collins.

Yes one of the best sermons I've heard by an Irish priest. Usually they blather with anecdotes and cliches as they don't prepare their preaching before hand out of laziness. Yes we should follow our conscience but our conscience must be an INFORMED conscience shaped and moulded primarily by the scripture particularly the New Testament and then understood in the light of what has been faithfully authentically handed on in the doctrine of the Faith. The only argument I have is with some of his wording. The holy spirit does not form us via an inner gnosis as the "spirit speaks" to us. God speaks to us in the light of how well we know the Faith with our mind. We must enlightened our mind then this shapes our conscience. In the light of Christ's commandments, his teachings we examine our consciences, critique ourselves and the external world and times we live in. With the law of Christ we critique what we build in our relationships, locality, society and world. We are not informed or given the content of the Faith by feelings or inner messages. The content of the Faith isn't absorbed from some divine realm or via feelings.

God is in charge of this world ,we must trust in him ,do not panic and give into survival mode,chaos and or lose focus on the present moment .It's our souls that we need to prepare and nothing else .Do not be distracted by surviving in this world as it's only the next that matters. Jesus I Trust in You .Amen 🙏

It's been years since I last saw Fr Pat! He was huge in the Charismatic Renewal, back in the day. The meetings have got fewer and further between, these days. He was like Fr (now Bishop) Barron, in his knowledge of philosophy, but was also well-read in psychology. On top of that, he had the mystical / Spirit-led angle that you always had from Charismatic speakers.

I wonder if this priest is still alive today. I wonder his reaction as he would look back on this sermon that he gave 14 years ago and see how correct he was.

To realise this is from 2010 and that Fr Collins references an escalation of malevolent activity that took place within the previous 12 months, unprecedented with any time in his priesthood, hit hard with me. Exorcist Fr Ripperger, in one of his talks, admitted around 2016. That a demoniac told him in session that 'Things are really going to escalate in 2009'. That would give you goosebumps!

This could be said at multiple times in the Church's history. It does not explain anything going on and does nothing but give "stay true to Jesus" as the solution. The Church has split in two. Don't deny that. Both sides believe they are "staying true to Jesus". One side is Evangelical Protestant fundamentalist in its attitudes, one has fidelity to the Pope.

At 3:05 you cut to a newspaper article that reads “Gay Sex claims engulf Irelands oldest priest training college” and it’s done in reference to the church going through uncertain times with anxiety levels rising because shifts in tradition etc. But this article is focusing on just gay sex… what about priests who are having heterosexual sex? It’s like the worst is gay sex but there’s no headlines about the multitude of priest who have broken marriages up and remain priests without a social stigmatism but God forbid gay sex. Priest have also abused children but gay sex is the bad one. What exactly are we condemning here? The pope has said priests can offer a blessing on gay couples and this has caused a shift in the Catholic Church and its clergy where some feel it’s not right to give a blessing on ppl? What does that say about your practice in your religion though? About your faith in Gods love and mercy. Blessings are to be handed out only to certain ppl? Did Jesus not go against Temple instruction and help the lepers?
